Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) is a significant, growing problem. Non-pharmacological care for infants experiencing withdrawal is not well studied in the literature. A prospective quality improvement project was conducted utilizing a non-pharmacologic intervention bundle, with pre-implementation and post-implementation phases. Results showed that non-pharmacologic interventions were helpful in decreasing pharmacologic treatment.

Patients with a spinal cord injury (SCI) have a higher risk to develop a pressure ulcer during a hospital stay. The objectives of this poster presentation are to (1) determine the causes for the lack of documentation of chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) in patients with central lines, then (2) differentiate the reasons for these causes. A central venous catheter is an intravenous port placed in a large vein of a patient. Studies conducted for more than ten years have described how placing a newborn on their mother's bare skin immediately following birth provides both physiologic and psychological benefits for the newborn and the mother (Moran-Peters, Zauderer, Goldman, Balerlein, & Smith, 2014, p. 296).
