Journal of Contemporary Archival Studies
Social media play an increasingly significant role in activist and social movements around the globe. Archiving social media is a relatively new phenomenon and an area which needs greater clarity, understanding and uniformity. When it comes to archiving and cataloguing sensitive social media collections, such as personal abortion stories, the process is even more ambiguous. The campaign to repeal the Eighth Amendment (a constitutional ban on abortion) in Ireland saw many such stories shared through online media, particularly in the lead-up to the 2018 referendum. International Journal on Responsibility
This special issue of the International Journal on Responsibility (IJR) advances scholarship on the various ways responsibility infuses the roles of criminal justice agents. As the inaugural issue of my tenure as Editor-in-Chief, Volume 6 deepens our understanding of responsibility in the context of the criminal justice system, thereby fulfilling IJR’s aim and scope. Specifically, the articles highlight issues of responsibility within each component of the criminal justice system: police, courts, and corrections.

Report of working with a hyper-vigilant 9-year-old male with difficulty handling a transition to a new home. CST and sensory processing enhancement were utilized to help develop neuroregulation, enabling self-awareness, self-regulation, and personally directed life skills for maintaining a safe and alert state.

The quality of user-contributed content at online platforms can vary. Manual validation of such content for quality and relevance is difficult and not scalable. No current techniques utilize known high quality content to rank user-contributed content. This disclosure describes techniques for scalable automatic validation of user-contributed content (UCC) provided to an online platform. A similarity function is learned based on merchant media and known high-quality user submitted media. The similarity function is used to score new UCC media and determine whether the new UCC media is relevant and of sufficient quality to include on the platform. The techniques improve the …

The Suez Canal runs through an important water body, the Bitter Lakes which are deepened regularly to suit passing by or parking vessels of different drafts. The bottom topographic is dynamically changing due to sedimentation by ships and water current movements that are usually impacting and requiring those continuing dredging processes performed by the Suez Canal Authority. Basically, studying the bottom dwellers of any lake requires bathymetric data which is very costly. Therefore, bathymetry maps can be derived from passive optical satellite sensors (multispectral). Introduction: The aim of this research was to examine the relationships of four perceived teaching styles (i.e., autonomy support, structure, control, and chaos) of physical education (PE) teachers with students’ satisfaction of psychological needs as well as autonomous and controlled motivation towards physical activity in PE and leisure time context. Materials and Methods: 320 students (166 boys and 154 girls) aged from 12 to 18 years old (M = 14.13, SD = 1.6) participated in the study. Brain MRI volumes measuring brain atrophy have been associated with risks for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) and related dementia. Inflammatory biomarkers associated with brain MRI volumes may provide insight into the neuroinflammation associated with these diseases. The study aim is to identify circulating inflammatory biomarkers associated with total and regional brain MRI volumes in the Framingham Heart Study Offspring cohort. Participants (N=662, 52% female, mean age 62 years) free of dementia and stroke at the time of blood draw and who had MRI measures within five years were profiled using the OLINK Proteomics inflammation panel. Pregnant women with a substance use disorder have many barriers to treatment, including stigma, fear of disclosing use, the potential for having their children taken away, gender and race disparities, mental health, public policy, and the lengthy process to get into treatment. Ways to overcome these barriers, including gender-specific treatment, decreasing stigma associated with substance use disorders, increasing trauma informed care, providers assessing their own biases, and changing public policy are discussed. Gravitational lensing is the bending of light rays around a black hole. The goal of this project was to produce a computer code that would model light rays coming from a grid of objects set behind a rotating black hole. Using these light rays, we produced an image illustrating how this background of objects would appear to an observer on Earth. This was done by creating a MATLAB code to model the paths of multiple light rays at a time. This code was then used to help check and correct a C++ code that produced an image. Over the semester, …

The United States Constitution begins with the words "We the People,” yet several groups of people were overlooked as it was being crafted. The alienated populace felt that the governing constitution should reflect people of all sexes, genders, races, and nationalities, given the diversity of this nation. Although it took time and effort, the abolitionist and women's rights movements contributed to the formulation of the amendments that would extend constitutional rights to underrepresented groups. While psychology is one of the United States’ most popular undergraduate majors, we face a shortage of mental health workers which has created a lack of access to quality care. A gap exists between students’ interest in psychology as an academic subject and their interest in mental health careers. Using quantitative survey data from psychology majors in a required orientational course, this study assessed why students major in psychology, their feelings about the psychology major, and their post-graduate plans. Many psychology majors reported wanting to help others, which was associated with wanting a psychology-related career. Students of color reported a …
