In the modern age, the police institution is utilised as the primary spearhead to combat multiple sources of possible disruptions for the general safety of the public. The Indonesian National Police (INP) as a member of the INTERPOL takes part in multitude of activities conducted by the international organization. Currently, the Indonesian National Police is facing a rising number in the cases of missing persons, unidentified remains and crimes against children with casualties not only from Indonesian nationalities, but also international citizens. The South China Sea research agenda has increased over the years. However, no scientometric studies have been performed on this topic, which has helped analyze the research on the South China Sea throughout many years. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the global findings of previous research on the South China Sea, development trends, and trending issues surrounding the sea. Literature was extracted from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database, and the CiteSpace software was used to visualize the data analyzed. The survey included 12,755 articles. Overall, the number of publications increased annually. Acta Oceanologica Sinica and the …

Diarrhea is a global health problem that causes morbidity and death in all age groups. Among the cities in Indonesia, Depok has the second-highest incidence of diarrhea outbreaks. Although previous studies have shown the correlation between diarrhea and environmental and behavioral factors, the spatial analysis of these factors is still very limited. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the spatial analysis of the association between diarrhea incidence and environmental and behavioral factors using an ecological study. The secondary data from the Depok City Health Office were used in the analysis. Our results showed a significant relationship between proper drinking water …

Background: Lifestyle Africa is an adapted version of the Diabetes Prevention Program designed for delivery by community health workers to socioeconomically disadvantaged populations in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Results from the Lifestyle Africa trial conducted in an under-resourced community in South Africa indicated that the programme had a significant effect on reducing haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c).
Objective: To estimate the cost of implementation and the cost-effectiveness (in cost per point reduction in HbA1c) of the Lifestyle Africa programme to inform decision-makers of the resources required and the value of this intervention.
Methods: Interviews were held with project administrators to identify …
Covalent Inhibition Of Enzyme Sortase A As A New Pathway Against Bacterial Resistance Of Staphylococcus Aureus, Umyeena Bashir
Covalent Inhibition Of Enzyme Sortase A As A New Pathway Against Bacterial Resistance Of Staphylococcus Aureus, Umyeena Bashir
Master's Theses
The continued rise of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, such as MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus), has made the discovery of novel antibiotics critical. While bacteriostatic and bactericidal antibiotics inevitably exert evolutionary pressure on bacteria to develop resistance, small molecules that target mechanisms of bacterial virulence present a promising alternative for treatment. Sortase A (Srt A), a cysteine protease of S. aureus, promotes bacterial virulence by covalently attaching proteins such as pilin to the bacterial surface, enabling bacterial adhesion to mammalian cells. Inhibitory studies of this enzyme have gained prominent interest as a new pathway for drug development since blocking this enzyme's ability to …

The Relationship Between Bureaucracy And Developments In Management Accounting, 1700-2023: An Overview, Helena Costa Oliveira, Russell Craig, Lúcia Lima Rodrigues
Jurnal Akuntansi dan Keuangan Indonesia
Bureaucracy has co-existed with forms of management accounting [MA] from the time of ancient civilizations. In this paper, we review literature in a wide variety of scholarly journals and books to provide an overview of this co-existence. We trace the historical evolution of MA and how it was influenced by bureaucracy from 1700 to the present. We do so through four time periods, designated classical, modern, post-modern and contemporary. For each of these periods, evolving understandings of bureaucracy were linked to changes in the practice and conceptualization of MA. In the classical period (1700 – 1950), developments in MA corresponded …

The current climate change is caused by anthropogenic activities involving energy and industry usage that affect the temperature and climate of the Earth. The Paris Agreement on climate change is a commitment by some countries to act to address climate change by developing sustainably and emitting low levels of carbon dioxide (CO2). Changes in the oceans include temperature increases, acidification, and changes in currents, leading to decreased productivity in fishing and aquaculture. Integrated mangrove shrimp farming, known as silvofisheries, has been recognized as environmentally friendly cultivation. The implementation of silvofishery is a form of mangrove ecosystem management that integrates ecology …

Sea urchins, soft-shelled invertebrates (Echinoderms), crucially contribute to cleaning the ocean bottom. However, sea urchins in tropical waters like Indonesia have not yet been fully disclosed. This study was conducted at Hutumuri and Rutong waters, Ambon City. This study assessed physical-chemical parameters, sea urchin species composition, classification, and community structure. Employing the Line Transect method with 5x5 m quadrants and 50m transect spacing, data analysis included density, relative density, frequency of presence, diversity, uniformity, and dominance indices. Results indicated normal temperature and salinity at both stations, supporting sea urchin life, with rocky and sandy substrates deemed suitable. A total of …

Sustainable Reporting For Agricultural Cooperatives Key Insights And Framework Development, Lia Dahlia Iryani
Journal of Environmental Science and Sustainable Development
A study on the viability of implementing sustainable reporting in Indonesian agricultural cooperatives is exceptionally uncommon, given the underlying concerns raised by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Regulation No. 51/2017. In order to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, this project intends to investigate the potential of indicators of economic, ecological, and social sustainability. Employing the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method, this study analyzes the content of 85 sustainability reports using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 reporting framework to determine the correlations between different sustainability categories and how they affect agribusiness and evaluate the impact on the business. Indonesia has 17,204 islands registered, named, and coordinated by Geospatial Information Agency (BIG). The number of islands can threaten maritime boundary disputes between provinces, districts, and cities. One of the disputes is the claim over Pulau Tujuh, which is mutually contested for ownership by the Province of Bangka Belitung and the Province of Riau Islands. This study aims to analyze the marine management zone of the Pulau Tujuh claim. It is carried out using the cartometric method. This study of regional boundaries refers to the Regulation of The Minister of Home Affairs of The Republic of Indonesia 141 of 2017, …

Climate change and other environmental problems have become a global concern. Intrinsically, this creates higher education institutions such as Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) taking part in various green campus measurements to address this problem. This study analyzes the factors of how higher education institutions such as UMY and USM initiate green campuses and sustainable universities. It assumes these two universities align with the implementation of green campus initiation despite their different university status. This research is qualitative research using a comparative study between UMY and USM. This research data uses interviews from the university website, …

Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine condition in women of reproductive age, increasing the risk of infertility. It affects an estimated 12-21% of women of reproductive age and involves clinical signs such as oligo or anovulation, hirsutism, acne and polycystic ovaries on ultrasound, Studies consistently reveal a greater frequency of PCOS among overweight and obese women, and up to 30% of indigenous women with a BMI >30 kg/m2 satisfied PCOS diagnostic criteria.
