The Impact Of Perceived Principal Efficacy On Instructional Growth Through The Evaluation Protocol, John Richard Thompson Iii
The Impact Of Perceived Principal Efficacy On Instructional Growth Through The Evaluation Protocol, John Richard Thompson Iii
Dissertations
The goal of this study was to investigate the impact of the perception of principal efficacy on instructional growth. The research questions examined what factors determine the perception of principal efficacy, how those perceptions impact instructional feedback during the evaluation process, and how they impact teacher growth. Data were collected in two stages. First, a survey was distributed to all K-12 teachers from a rural Southwest Missouri athletic conference. Participants completed the survey to provide qualitative information on the impacts of the perception of principal efficacy. Stage two consisted of follow-up interviews with the participants who indicated they were willing …
Process Improvement Of Cu(Ii)-Trymethylamine-Based Active Clay Measurement Test And Total Clay Measurement Test, Christopher Michael Remily
Process Improvement Of Cu(Ii)-Trymethylamine-Based Active Clay Measurement Test And Total Clay Measurement Test, Christopher Michael Remily
Masters Theses
Foundry work requires a mold made of a mixture of sand, “active clay” to absorb gas, and binders to combine the two and hold the molds shape. When the metal is melted to be poured into the mold, the solubility dramatically increases, causing gas to be temporarily dissolved in the metal. This gas causes small surface pits to form once the metal cools, causing part failure. This causes the need to absorb the gas. Since the clay is used in the process, there needs to be a way to determine how much remains active, which is done with a dye …
The Contradictory Nature Of U.S. Laws And Nutrition Programs And Their Effects On Infant Feeding, Lily Patel
The Contradictory Nature Of U.S. Laws And Nutrition Programs And Their Effects On Infant Feeding, Lily Patel
Journal of Food Law & Policy
The contradictory nature of U.S. laws, including the laws concerning infant feeding, though supposedly aligned with policies to promote wellness in Americans, can exacerbate gender and race inequality and work against the National Strategy. The overarching goal of U.S. laws concerning infant feeding is to ensure that infants are fed, nourished, and receive proper nutrition. However, the laws often appear to be directly contradictory to one another in the priorities they are promoting.

Instrumentality: How We Develop Relationships With Objects And People, Nathaniel Bee
Instrumentality: How We Develop Relationships With Objects And People, Nathaniel Bee
Undergraduate Honors Capstone Projects
There are many different types of relationships a person will have throughout their life, each being given varying levels of authenticity, weight, and care. One’s attention is primarily placed upon the meaningful relationships in one’s life, but often deeper consideration of one’s “lesser” relationships is neglected. Networking and professional relationships are often impersonal. Family members will often lie to each other in favor of avoiding conflict. The emotional labor of service workers often goes underappreciated and undercompensated. Careers in the political sphere revolve heavily around maintaining a positive public image, and there are well-observed disparities between politicians’ stated values and …
Parent-Child Communication About Adoption From The Adopted Child's Perspective: A Literature Review, Abigial Kent
Parent-Child Communication About Adoption From The Adopted Child's Perspective: A Literature Review, Abigial Kent
All Graduate Reports and Creative Projects, Fall 2023 to Present
Discourse in adoptive families is how families create relationships and familial identity. This literature review addresses how parents talk to adoptees and the negative and positive outcomes of these conversations. Parents discuss entrance stories, word choice, and privacy management with their adopted children. When parents are open with adoptees, adoptees are better adjusted and have a strong sense of identity. Parents who had good quality conversations with their children saw children who had a stronger sense of belonging. When parents withhold information, adoptees developed anxious and avoidant attachment styles. Adoptees also felt betrayed and lost trust in their adopted parents. …

Compatibility Of Conformal And Projective Structures, Eli Atkin
Compatibility Of Conformal And Projective Structures, Eli Atkin
All Graduate Reports and Creative Projects, Fall 2023 to Present
In 1972 Ehlers Pirani and Schild, published a paper The geometry of free fall and light propagation. The authors established a constructive set of axioms for building a relativistic space time geometry based on the compatibility of projective and conformal structures. In recent years two papers have been published addressing the validity of these results. The first of these papers by Matveev and Trautman claim to give the necessary and sufficient conditions for the projective and conformal structures to be compatible, and in doing so conclude that the central claim of the EPS paper is wrong. In 2020 Matveev and …

If ever you enter a special education classroom, you may encounter a few events. You may witness a classroom of impressive, almost automatic interactions, delivered in a way so eloquent that the students and staff seem to be in an effortless dance with one another. Or, you may witness a classroom that feels heavy with needs; needs of more staff, more help, more hands, and more time. This visual exercise demonstrates how the structure of a special education classroom sets the tone for student growth and success.
One pivotal part of a special education classroom is the paraeducators. Paraeducators, also …

Development, Implementation, And Optimization Of A Modern, Subsonic/Supersonic Panel Method, Cory D. Goates
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Fall 2023 to Present
In the early stages of aircraft design, engineers consider many different design concepts, examining the trade-offs between different component arrangements and sizes, thrust and power requirements, etc. Because so many different designs are considered, it is best in the early stages of design to use simulation tools that are fast; accuracy is secondary. A common simulation tool for early design and analysis is the panel method. Panel methods were first developed in the 1950s and 1960s with the advent of modern computers. Despite being reasonably accurate and very fast, their development was abandoned in the late 1980s in favor of …

Using Telehealth To Teach Caregivers Mand Training Using A Speech Generating Device, Sara Jeppson
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Fall 2023 to Present
Children with ASD often have struggles with social communication and developing a functional vocal output. Alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) can be used in different modes such as speech generating devices (SGDs) to help these individuals develop a vocal output. Caregivers are optimal to aid their children in learning these communication skills. Past studies such as Suberman and Civindini-Motta showed that behavioral skills training (BST) can be effective to teach caregivers communication training using an SGD. The current study aimed to replicate the procedures of Suberman and Civindini-Motta but extended it by adapting the procedures described using telehealth.

Impact Of Moisture Content And Composition On Flow Properties Of Dairy Powders, Katelynn Palmer
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Fall 2023 to Present
Milk protein concentrate (MPC) and isolate (MPI), and milk permeate powder (MPP) are functional dairy powder products that are used in food applications worldwide. It is critical that environmental factors and physical powder characteristics during production and storage are controlled. When dairy powders are exposed to non-ideal conditions (high moisture, varying temperatures,) they can quickly become very sticky, and clumpy. When powders become sticky, their ability to easily flow is reduced. As a result, processing and storing the powders effectively and sustainably becomes very difficult.
In the first study, an analysis method was created to test the general flow behavior …

Ecology And Management Of Dyer's Woad (Isatis Tinctoria) In Northern Utah, Erin Marie Hettinger
All Graduate Theses and Dissertations, Fall 2023 to Present
Dyer’s woad (Isatis tinctoria L.) is a non-native forb that continues to threaten natural areas throughout Northern Utah and much of the Intermountain West. Once introduced, dyer’s woad can become extremely invasive, decreasing forage quality, and displacing native species. While dyer’s woad is found throughout much of Northern Utah, its range in other states remains limited. If promptly managed, control success in these areas will be much higher and populations may be kept at bay before ecological damage becomes severe.
This project tested the ability of dyer’s woad seedlings to compete with common rangeland grasslands at varied densities as …
Quantification Of Tumor Biophysical Heterogeneity Through Mechanical And Ultrastructural Analysis., Bradley James Mahaffey
Quantification Of Tumor Biophysical Heterogeneity Through Mechanical And Ultrastructural Analysis., Bradley James Mahaffey
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Glioblastoma (GBM) is a highly invasive, aggressive brain cancer that carries a median survival of 15 months. This poor prognosis is due, in part, to its resistance to standard therapeutic intervention. Recent studies have demonstrated that tumor heterogeneity plays a critical role in facilitation therapy resistance by mediating tumor adaptation through microenvironmental cues. Efforts to describe these microenvironmental differences may aid in the development of strategies to combat resistance. GBM can be separated into two distinct regions – a core and a rim, which are thought to drive specific aspects of tumor evolution. The core is proliferative as evidenced by …
Bayesian Strategies For Propensity Score Estimation In Causal Inference., Uthpala I. Wanigasekara
Bayesian Strategies For Propensity Score Estimation In Causal Inference., Uthpala I. Wanigasekara
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Causal inference is a method used in various fields to draw causal conclusions based on data. It involves using assumptions, study designs, and estimation strategies to minimize the impact of confounding variables. Propensity scores are used to estimate outcome effects, through matching methods, stratification, weighting methods, and the Covariate Balancing Propensity Score method. However, they can be sensitive to estimation techniques and can lead to unstable findings. Researchers have proposed integrating weighing with regression adjustment in parametric models to improve causal inference validity. The first project focuses on Bayesian joint and two-stage methods for propensity score analysis. Propensity score modeling …

The “Nurseries Of Republicans”: French Collèges After The Jesuit Expulsion, 1763-1793, Kaci Parker
The “Nurseries Of Republicans”: French Collèges After The Jesuit Expulsion, 1763-1793, Kaci Parker
Boise State University Theses and Dissertations
The landscape of secondary education before the French Revolution has not yet been studied as a potential cause of, and factor in, the coming Revolution. After the Jesuits were expelled from France in 1763, their secondary schools—the collèges—were confiscated by the government. This government coalition of the royal monarchy and the law courts of France, known as the parlements, took over the schools and ran them as the “Interim” system. Despite previous historiography which stresses the continuity of these systems, my research has found that there were deep changes that happened in both the curriculum and the teachers …

Doxorubicin-Induced Changes To The Tgf-Β Signaling Pathway And Autophagic Flux In Fibroblasts: Implications For Cardiotoxicity, Conner Patricelli
Boise State University Theses and Dissertations
Doxorubicin is a commonly used chemotherapeutic used to treat many different types of cancer. However, its clinical use is limited due to its cardiotoxic adverse effects. While multiple mechanisms have been shown to be responsible for doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity, it is generally accepted that the principle mechanism is oxidative stress induction through the production of reactive oxygen species and free radicals in the myocardium. However, efforts to reduce/prevent doxorubicin toxicity using antioxidants have largely failed in pre-clinical and clinical trials. The targeted approach using a liposome delivery of doxorubicin significantly reduced the risk of cardiotoxicity; however, this approach is limited to …
