Figurative language is a commonly used strategy in interpersonal interaction. Although previous studies have explored the use of figurative language in various materials, its use in commencement speeches based on the speaker’s professional background has not been investigated. This study used 20 commencement speeches as material to examine the differences in the use of the figurative language of entertainers and business people invited to speak at commencement ceremonies. The results revealed that figurative language is pervasive in commencement speeches; the more frequently used figure of speech types were metaphor, repetition, personification, and parallelism. This study aims to investigate the impacts of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in total and individual performance (“E”, “S”, and “G”) on firms’ intellectual capital (IC) efficiency. The Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (VAIC) and Modified Value-Added Intellectual Coefficient (MVAIC) were used to measure IC efficiency. Meanwhile, the annual ESG index data from the ASEAN-4 were used to measure ESG from 2015 to 2020. The results show “E”, “S”, and “G” and total ESG positively affect firms’ efficiency in managing IC. This classroom action research aimed at improving EFL students’ listening comprehension using the implementation of podcast with transcripts through reading- while-listening strategy. The result of mean score in final test showed 81. 95 which increased 13. 05 points from initial test and discovered that 86 % of students achieved the standard passing score. Likewise, the second semester students revealed that they get used to being actively involved in the discussion and showed their enthusiasm during the teaching and learning process. This study aims to self-reflect the student-teacher’s (ST’s) scaffolding during her online teaching practicum practice. The self-reflective was conducted in six meetings using a Zoom Application. It utilized a thematic analysis from Braun Clarke (2006). The findings showed that the student-teacher was able to: (1) be aware of her scaffolding drawbacks and improved significantly in the next meetings, (2) improve students’ understanding, (3) conduct appropriate scaffolding learning process by utilizing various graphic organizers and media. This paper aims to explore how Madrasah EFL teachers manifest their agency in developing their professional identities. The study is a narrative inquiry involving eight EFL teachers from Madrasah around Indonesia. Data were collected through narrative frames followed by in-depth interviews to clarify blurred stories written in narrative frames. The data were analyzed and elaborated into three themes, the novices, beyond the shell: the journey to be professional teachers, and the lifelong learners. The result shows that the dynamic change enacted by Madrasah EFL teachers can be categorized into three dimensions, the iterational, the practical evaluative, and the projective dimension.

(1) Background: The genetic etiology of most patients with cerebral folate deficiency (CFD) remains poorly understood. KDM6B variants were reported to cause neurodevelopmental diseases; however, the association between KDM6B and CFD is unknown; (2) Methods: Exome sequencing (ES) was performed on 48 isolated CFD cases. The effect of KDM6B variants on KDM6B protein expression, Histone H3 lysine 27 epigenetic modification and FOLR1 expression were examined in vitro. For each patient, serum FOLR1 autoantibodies were measured; (3) Results: Six KDM6B variants were identified in five CFD patients, which accounts for 10% of our CFD cohort cases. Reminders are an important method for encouraging patients to return for follow-up visits, such as for successive doses of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine. However, patients may have preferences for different types of reminders. This study examined which reminder methods parents of pediatric patients found most useful and their thoughts on how the reminders helped them to complete their children's HPV vaccine series. The ability to biosynthesize oxalic acid can provide beneficial functions to plants; however, uncontrolled or prolonged exposure to this strong organic acid results in multiple physiological problems. Such problems include a disruption of membrane integrity, mitochondrial function, metal chelation, and free radical formation. Recent work suggests that a CoA-dependent pathway of oxalate catabolism plays a critical role in regulating tissue oxalate concentrations in plants. Although this CoA-dependent pathway of oxalate catabolism is important, large gaps in our knowledge of the enzymes catalyzing each step remain. In this report we share 21 year-old young man with traumatic transmetatarsal amputation treated with multiple operations after few weeks of surgery. Foot equinovarus deformity was noted which leads to walking disability and affects daily activities. Patient was referred to us from orthopedic doctor because he hesitated to have another operation for Achilles tendon lengthening. During the physical examination, equinovarus foot with hip contracture were observed which may be caused by muscle imbalance or nerve injury.
