Fatty Acid Methyl Ester Production By Transesterification Of Refined Palm Oil With Methanol Catalysed By Anion-Exchange Resin With Tetrahydrofuran As A Co-Solvent, Zargul Ammara
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Alkaline anion exchange resins, specifically dense AmberLiteTM IRA402 and porous AmberLystTM A26, are used to study the transesterification of palm oil and methanol. A common industrial process for creating biodiesel or green solvents is transesterification. While homogeneous catalysts like sodium methoxide and sodium hydroxide are used in most transesterification facilities, heterogeneous catalysts have the benefit of being simpler to separate from the finished product. The goal of this study was to better understand how palm oil and methanol combine to produce fatty acid methyl ester (FAME), a prevalent kind of biodiesel. Previous studies mainly investigated the production of fatty acid …

Roles Of Regulated Cell Death In Cholangiocarcinoma And Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma, Thanpisit Lomphithak
Roles Of Regulated Cell Death In Cholangiocarcinoma And Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma, Thanpisit Lomphithak
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) are complex and heterogeneous cancers. Conventional therapy approaches often fail to elicit significant responses in patients, resulting in low survival rates compared to other cancer types. This could be due to their immunosuppressive and desmoplastic tumor microenvironment, which renders cancer cells resistant to conventional therapies, highlighting the urgent need for more effective therapeutic approaches. Regulated cell death pathways have been extensively studied in recent years as a promising target for developing new strategies in cancer treatment. Specifically, necroptosis and ferroptosis, two forms of regulated necrosis, hold promise as novel targets for treating cancer, …

Degradation Of Di (2-Ethylhexyl) Phthalate By Marine Sediment Bacteria And Identification Of Key Degraders And Degradative Genes, Ritu Ningthoujam
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
Di (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) is a toxic phthalate ester (PAE) plasticizer that is predominantly detected in marine sediment and biota. DEHP degradation by bacteria from several environments has been studied, but very little is known about marine sediment bacteria that can degrade DEHP and other PAEs. Therefore, in this study, we enriched a bacterial consortium C10 that can degrade four PAEs of varying alkyl chain lengths (DEHP, dibutyl phthalate, diethyl phthalate, and dimethyl phthalate ; separately and as a mixture) from marine sediment. The major bacterial genera in C10 during the degradation of the PAEs were Glutamicibacter, Ochrobactrum, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, …

The Role Of Bank Capital Through Monetary Policy Transmission Mechanism, Waraluk Rosmontee
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
This study examines the role of bank capital in the transmission of monetary policy, considering the bank lending channel (BLC) and financial development. Analyzing bank-level data from nine countries during 2007-2021 with GMM method, the study finds that well-capitalized banks are better positioned to expand loan supply and withstand adverse shocks. However, behavioral patterns differ between developed and ASEAN countries. In developed nations, policy rate changes have inconclusive effects on loan growth, while profitable banks and inflation drive credit expansion. In ASEAN countries, policy rate increases are associated with loan growth, reflecting favorable economic conditions. Financial development impacts credit expansion …
