The Influence Of Extracellular Matrix On Human Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Properties, Daneeya Na Nan
The Influence Of Extracellular Matrix On Human Periodontal Ligament Stem Cell Properties, Daneeya Na Nan
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
The periodontal ligament (PDL) is a crucial tissue connecting teeth to surrounding alveolar bone, withstanding the mechanical forces of mastication, speech, and deglutition. The extracellular matrix (ECM) of the PDL plays a critical role in maintaining PDL cell stability and function in response to external forces. Mechanotransduction, the process by which cells convert mechanical signals into biochemical signals, is essential for PDL cells to sense and respond to mechanical stimuli. The ECM is a critical mediator of mechanotransduction, as it is responsible for transmitting mechanical forces to cells and regulating cellular responses to mechanical stress. Matricellular proteins, such as periostin …

Computational Modeling Of Benzyl Alcohol Oxidation Coupled With Hydrogen Production In A Photoelectrochemical Reactor, Thorfhan Hanamorn
Chulalongkorn University Theses and Dissertations (Chula ETD)
In photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells, hydrogen production at the cathode must be coupled with the oxidation reaction at the anode. Selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol into benzaldehyde is an attractive alternative pathway due to its lower overpotential than the traditional oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this work, simulation of selective oxidation of benzyl alcohol into benzaldehyde paired with hydrogen production in 2 chambers of 2-dimensional PEC reactor was studied using COMSOL Multiphysics (5.6). Charge transport and electrochemical kinetics were simulated using Nernst Planck’s and Butler Volmer's equations, respectively. The results have showed that hydrogen and benzaldehyde concentrations on electrode surfaces increased …

Indole, a bicyclic compound comprising a fused benzene and pyrrole ring, serves as a fundamental component in numerous natural compounds. Additionally, indole holds significant importance in industrial applications, particularly in the production of pharmaceutical drugs and agrochemicals. Flavin-dependent indole monooxygenase is an enzyme responsible for hydroxylation of the indole ring. Indole monooxygenase is a two-components: flavoprotein reductase containing FAD as a cofactor, and monooxygenase. The reductase component utilizes NADH to catalyze flavin reduction and transfers the reduced flavin to the monooxygenase component. The hydroxylation of indole by monooxygenase reduced FAD and oxygen as substrates. In this study, we cloned the …
