Background/aim: Post-ERCP cholangitis (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) and associated sepsis can be life- threatening. Despite the wealth of studies on post-ERCP pancreatitis risk factors, there is limited data on post-ERCP cholangitis. This study aimed to investigate the rates, predictors, and outcomes of post-ERCP cholangitis. Materials and methods: A retrospective review of 452 ERCP cases performed by a single endoscopist at a tertiary center between March 2019 and February 2021 was performed. Patient-related, organizational and periprocedural factors that could affect post-ERCP cholangitis were evaluated. Predictors of post-ERCP cholangitis were determined by multivariable analysis. Background/aim: Fine-needle non-aspiration cytology (FNNAC) is an easy-to-apply, minimally invasive diagnostic method that contributes to the diagnosis and staging of lung cancer. FNNAC can be performed from peripheral lymph nodes as well as in peripheral lung lesions. This study aimed to evaluate the contribution of FNNAC performed from peripheral lesions or lymph nodes to diagnosis in patients with pulmonary malignant lesions. Background/aim: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a functional gastrointestinal disorder in which one experiences abdominal pain, tension, cramping, bloating, and changes in the form and frequency of defecation, without an underlying organic disease. Background/aim: Accurate preoperative localization of the culprit gland is the key point for the surgical treatment of primary hyperparathyroidism. Conventional imaging techniques (ultrasound and Tc99m sestamibi scintigraphy) are usually adequate for preoperative localization. However, in some patient groups, additional imaging modalities may be required since noninvasive techniques may fail. Background/aim: Next generation sequencing provides new information about the molecular pathogenesis of cancer. We used a targeted NGS-based multiple gene panel comprising prostate cancer (PCa) predisposing genes to assess the prevalence of germline mutations in PCa patients. Material and methods: In a cohort of twenty-one PCa patients with a family history of cancer, a targeted multigene panel consisting of 39 genes associated with hereditary cancer was created and analyzed using the next generation sequencing method. Background/aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the value of the PET vascular activity score (PETVAS) during the follow-up of patients with Takayasu arteritis. Materials and methods: Takayasu arteritis patients who underwent 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET imaging were evaluated retrospectively. Background/aim: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 has not been precisely known in bronchoscopy procedures. We have designed a cabinet device called Ankara University Bronchoscopy Cabinet (Aubrocab® ) to protect healthcare. Background/aim: Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an endocrine disorder characterized by hypercalcemia caused by excessive parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion from the parathyroid gland. Background/aim: Mild encephalitis/encephalopathy with a reversible splenial lesion (MERS) is a rare clinicoradiological syndrome that typically presents with central nervous system symptoms such as loss of consciousness, seizure, headache, and ophthalmoparesis. Materials and methods: Here, we highlight the characteristics of this syndrome together with the clinical and MRI findings of 6 pediatric patients with MERS.
