Thyroidectomy In Mechanical Circulatory Support - A Salvage Treatment For Thyrotoxicosis-Induced Cardiogenic Shock: Case Series, Rody G. Bou Chaaya, Lauren M. Saint, Onyedika J. Ilonze Md, Mph
The VAD Journal
Amiodarone is frequently used to treat arrhythmias in patients supported with left ventricular assist devices. Long term amiodarone use can cause hyperthyroidism ultimately leading to cardiomyopathy and sometimes thyrotoxicosis-induced cardiogenic shock (CS). We describe two cases of thyrotoxicosis-induced CS rescued by successful thyroidectomy under mechanical circulatory support (MCS) – one with a Heartmate III (Abbott Laboratories) and another supported with veno-arterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-A ECMO). In refractory CS, the initiation of V-A ECMO as a bridge to recovery is critical. In thyrotoxicosis-induced CS that is refractory to medical therapy requiring MCS, thyroidectomy is feasible, and a growing body of …
Review Of Motivational Practices And Job Performance Of Staff In University Libraries, Wisdom Okereke Anyim
Review Of Motivational Practices And Job Performance Of Staff In University Libraries, Wisdom Okereke Anyim
Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)
Understanding the factors that motivate library staff helps to improve job performance and accelerate service delivery in the library. The paper revealed motivational methods that guarantee increasing productivity of staff, engagement and potential maximization. The study reviewed the concept of job performance, effect of motivation on job performance, motivational approaches, theories of motivation and job performance. Various training and development programmes as motivational tools were also identified. It was concluded that motivational practices should not be taken for granted as library staff tend to perform effectively when they are motivated by the management.

Computing Optimal Ldpc Decoding Voltages For Flash Memory, N/A
Computing Optimal Ldpc Decoding Voltages For Flash Memory, N/A
Defensive Publications Series
As flash memory cells age, the boundaries between cell voltages corresponding to ‘1’ and ‘0’ change. Measuring the movement with time of the voltage boundaries (or thresholds, VTH), and the confidence in the location of the boundaries (log-likelihood ratios, LLR) is critical to the reliable performance of the memory. This disclosure describes techniques for experimentally determining voltage thresholds and log-likelihood ratios values in flash memories, such that optimal VTH and LLRs can be re-computed periodically or at predetermined ages. Once re-computed, the program-erase (P/E) cycle-optimized values can be used for reading and for soft decoding until the …

Pet Liner As Solution For Inkjet Printer Ink Compatibility Issue, Hp Inc
Defensive Publications Series
Ink compatibility test is the assessment of the ability of a polymeric material to maintain its
original properties after being exposed to an indicated chemical reagent environment for a
specified period. It is a critical test that will be conducted by all the printer parts that will interact
with inks, be it before the pen firing event in which inks are stored inside the ink tank, ink tube, ink
cartridge or after the pen firing in which waste ink will spit onto spittoon and paper path platen ribs
which act as full bleed printing overspray zone.

Powder Collector For Elastomeric Materials, Hp Inc
Powder Collector For Elastomeric Materials, Hp Inc

Cake is when a material “sticks” together with itself, leading to large spongy regions of powder.
This can be a serious problem during printing as it can lead to large amount of powder waste if the
caking material is not well controlled. It can lead to the failure of jobs due to the powder spreading
poorly hence poorly fused parts, and furthermore in some cases the material is unable to be
recycled. Elastomeric materials are more susceptible to caking, however it can occur in any powder
if the thermal process is not well controlled.

Some Recirculation Ink Delivery System requires the intra printhead ink recirculation, also
referred to as minor‐recirculation, to maintain the dispersion of inks with large solids, such as,

Method To Provide Active/Standby Logic For Kubernetes Single-Instance Services, Tim Kuik, Matthew Chou
Defensive Publications Series
Services that were originally designed to run as a single-instance are unable to be run within a high availability model, which is expected in a clustered environment. Presented herein are techniques through which single-instance services can be converted into multi-instance services without any changes to their binary service logic. This provides an immediate benefit in providing a higher level of availability for any Kubernetes single-instance service.
Procedural Order Of Carrying Out Expertise On Criminal Cases, Istam Rustamovich Astanov
Procedural Order Of Carrying Out Expertise On Criminal Cases, Istam Rustamovich Astanov
ProAcademy
Production of expertise on a scene in parallel with its survey in most cases is impossible for the reasons of procedural character: inspection of a scene is, as a rule, performed before initiation of legal proceedings that doesn't allow the investigator before making decision on its excitement to appoint expertise. At the same time to reveal signs of a crime and to fix traces it according to law requirements sometimes happens it is simply impossible without carrying out expert research. It was the cause of statement by us of a question of possibility of purpose of expertise before initiation of …
What Does Social Entrepreneurship Mean To Change Agents In New Mexico? A Phenomenographic Approach To Understanding Social Entrepreneurship, Audriana Stark
What Does Social Entrepreneurship Mean To Change Agents In New Mexico? A Phenomenographic Approach To Understanding Social Entrepreneurship, Audriana Stark
Organization, Information and Learning Sciences ETDs
Social entrepreneurship has been identified as a solution to some of the world’s most pressing problems, including health, education, and environmental issues. Despite the rise in literature about social entrepreneurship, there is still a lack of understanding how place-based social entrepreneurship is being conceived and experienced by practitioners. Therefore, this study uses a phenomenographic approach to understand what social entrepreneurship means to change agents in New Mexico, a place characterized by social and economic challenges, as well as an abundance of natural and cultural resources. The findings revealed five distinct categories of description for social entrepreneurship including: Category 1. No …
The Impact Of Organizational Citizenship And School Culture And Climate Behaviors Of Small Elementary School Principals, Teresa Cowan-Fayter
The Impact Of Organizational Citizenship And School Culture And Climate Behaviors Of Small Elementary School Principals, Teresa Cowan-Fayter
Dissertations
Purpose: The purpose of this mixed methods study was to determine whether there was a relationship between the small school elementary principal organizational citizenship behaviors (OCBs) as measured by the Principal School OCB Survey and the student academic achievement on the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) in California small school districts. An additional purpose was to determine how small school elementary principals identify and describe the impact of their personal behaviors on school culture and climate.
Methodology: This is a mixed methods study. Archival data were collected from the California Department of Education (CDE) Dashboard, and additional …
