(Australian): Challenges Of The Australian Flying Corps During World War I, Patrick Joseph Blizzard
(Australian): Challenges Of The Australian Flying Corps During World War I, Patrick Joseph Blizzard
Graduate Theses/Dissertations
The air forces of the Great War faced many challenges. These challenges included integrating air power into established military doctrine and coping with the ever evolving airplane technology. The hurdles identified had to be overcome in order for the belligerent nations to wage a successful aerial campaign and control the skies above both static and dynamic forces. For the members of the Australian Flying Corps, these shared challenges were augmented by being the lone British dominion to operate an independent air arm. But what were these additional challenges and how were they overcome? The goal of this thesis is to …

The Passion Of Ken Williams: The Double Life Of A Mayor, The Newspaper That Brought Him Down, And The Story Of Journalism In America, Michael Adkison
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
In November 2007, a team of reporters from the Benton County Daily Record published an expose revealing that Ken Williams, the mayor of Centerton, Arkansas, had been living a double life. In his former life as Don LaRose, he was a preacher in the Northeast, who one day vanished without a trace. His wild saga includes Satanists, truth serums, and a supposed murder. The Benton County Daily Record confronted the former reverend several times before he finally confessed to his double life. The next morning, he resigned as mayor, saying that the decisions he made were for the protection of …

Barriers To Dance Education: An Exploration Into The Beliefs Of Dance Educators And Non-Dance Familiars On Dance And Its Place In The Public-School System, Brianna Michelle Miller
Master's Theses
The purpose of this study was to investigate differing views on the value of dance and its place within the public-education system. The researcher crafted three research questions to guide her research:
Q1 What barriers or objections exist when it comes to incorporating dance within the public-school setting? Q2 What discrepancies exist between the viewpoints of dance educators and non-dance familiars when it comes to dance and its value within the public education system? Q3 What specific steps can be taken to highlight the importance of dance education in the public-school setting?
Nine dance educators and twelve non-dance familiars completed …
How Might The Pandemic Change Medical Education?, Pete M. Ellis
How Might The Pandemic Change Medical Education?, Pete M. Ellis
Journal of Medical Education
Despite high expectations of change in medical education post-pandemic, a historical review suggests that, at best, pandemics are associated with acceleration of existing trends in medical education rather than creating new changes per se. However, the advent of medical education units, information technology and considerable research in the last fifty or so years may provide more potential for change now than in the past. Seven key issues in medical education are identified (clinical experience; communication skills; pedagogical approaches; learning environment; course objectives; national/local assessment; assessment for learning vs assessment of learning) and the impact of the pandemic on each of …
Combining National And State Music Standards To Create A Secondary Choral Curriculum For York County School Division, Leah Parr
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
Despite recent revisions of the National Music Standards and the Virginia Music Standards of Learning, there have not been efforts to determine how their combination could create a localized music curriculum. Combining the national and state music standards allows the music educator to employ current music education practices and ensure students graduate with a standard set of musical skills and abilities. This study examined how secondary choral directors can combine these standards to create an effective and sequential curriculum for secondary choral directors in York County School Division (YCSD). A qualitative, historical research approach identified the history of standards-based curriculum …
Mind Over Matter: How A Dancer’S Mind Affects The Physical Body, Kayla Johnson
Mind Over Matter: How A Dancer’S Mind Affects The Physical Body, Kayla Johnson
Honors College Theses
This thesis is an exploration of how a dancer’s mind can affect its physical body. Undoubtedly, there is a strong connection in every human between their mind and their body, but for an artist whose entire career depends on the ability of their body to create movement, there must be extra emphasis placed on their mental health care. Dance is just as mentally demanding as it is physically. To begin this project I collected research articles relating to injury, anxiety, self-confidence, body image and eating disorders performed on dancers. I noticed throughout my research that there was a lack of …

The main goal of this thesis is to examine the different financial situations of production crew members and determine if management and production companies within the industry were …
Best Practice Recommendation On Anesthesia Involvement In Preoperative Interdisciplinary Rounding On Surgical Inpatients, Elizabeth Davis
Best Practice Recommendation On Anesthesia Involvement In Preoperative Interdisciplinary Rounding On Surgical Inpatients, Elizabeth Davis
Doctoral Projects
Healthcare professionals are always seeking methods to improve patient care and patient outcomes and increase efficiency while reducing errors. By improving communication through the implementation of interdisciplinary communication, improved care quality, fewer variations in care, and enhanced collaboration among the healthcare team may be an outcome (Hoke & Falk, 2012). While anesthesia is involved in patient care throughout the perioperative period, their expertise may impact the patient’s outcome and quality of surgical care. With the involvement of anesthesia in interdisciplinary rounding, the patient may be optimized, and the plan of care may be more appropriate and individualized.
The potential for …
The Political And Criminological Conspiracy Of Terrosism: A Case Study Of Nigeria, Cajetan Chidi Ihe
The Political And Criminological Conspiracy Of Terrosism: A Case Study Of Nigeria, Cajetan Chidi Ihe
Dissertations (2016-Present)
Nigeria has recently witnessed the repeated prevalence of a fog of terror that has threatened the stability, peace, and sovereignty of the nation. While the world's attention focuses on Afghanistan, Iraq, and bombings in embassies around the Western world, shocking terrorist activities with immeasurably devastating impacts are regularly ignored by the Nigerian government and the international community. Since 1970, Nigeria has continued to experience repeated domestic attacks entrenched in different forms of tensions and motivations. The Global Terrorism Index (2019) ranked Nigeria as the third most terrorized country in the world, behind only Iraq and Afghanistan with 1,634 attacks, 16,108 …
