Cor triatriatum sinister is a rare congenital cardiac anomaly in which a fibromuscular membrane divides the left atrium into 2 chambers. It is even rarer when present at an adult age. Symptoms and presentation of the patient depend on the size of the opening in the membrane through which 2 chambers of left atrium communicate with each other. Cor triatriatum sinister rarely remains asymptomatic till adulthood. In adults, symptoms of Cor triatriatum sinister mimic the symptoms of mitral stenosis. Today we are reliant on a growing range of space-based assets. To assess inherent space-related risks it is critical to evaluate existing and planned systems. Here we summarise 2019-2020 findings from a wide range of participants. Our analysis includes: the importance of: persistency, all-weather, night and day capabilities, satellite image resolution, and other technical requirements. Hybrid threats, cyber warfare, GPS 'spoofing', jamming, and EMP are part of a new generation of threats becoming relevant with rapid space domain exploitation, in addition to space weather impact [1].

Hindi popular cinema, marked with sartorial, visual and material excess, has paradoxically portrayed acquisition of wealth or unregulated consumption as inimical to the Chaturvarga philosophy, or the idea that an individual should seek four goods – Artha (wealth), Kama (pleasure), Dharma (duty) and Moksha (renunciation) - in moderation in order to lead a balanced life. While its visual imagery is largely oriented towards Artha or pleasure, Dharma, in its meaning as duty, has been the prime motivation of Hindi or Bombay cinema’s characters and structures the cinematic conflict and action. Guillermo Del Toro’s The Shape of Water (2017) restages the biblical narrative of Ruth in Cold War America, crystallizing the parallel through setting numerous scenes at a local cinema that is playing The Story of Ruth (1960). The book of Ruth tells the tale of how a non-Israelite outsider could be welcomed into the kingdom of God and ultimately into the lineage of Christ. Likewise, del Toro populates his tale with multiple outsiders—multiple ‘Ruths’—including a mute woman, an African American cleaner, a Russian Communist, and an elderly homosexual male. This article engages in close analysis of how Andrey Zvyagintsev depicts corruption and its various manifestations: moral, familial, societal, and institutional, in Leviathan (Leviafan, 2014). While other post-Soviet films address the problem of prevalent corruption in Russia, Zvyagintsev’s work is the first to provoke strong public reactions, not only from government and Russian Orthodox Church officials, but also from Orthodox and political activist groups. The film demonstrates that the instances of legal and moral failings in one aspect of existence are a sign of a much deeper and wider-ranging problem that affects all other spheres of human experience. …

This paper breaks down elements of the EU’s response to the 2015 refugee crisis through the case of Greece, specifically in light of the four components in the UN’s Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework. Especially important in the regions of the Mediterranean and Europe since the beginning of the 2015 refugee crisis, this paper defines elements of migration within the European context. Furthermore, it seeks to understand how preference for political and national security over humanitarian aid and action highlight policy failings in light of the UN’s Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework.

This thesis aims to provide an alternative method of community engagement through the process of participatory model-making. Rather than only seeking out community voices for surveys and data collection, this project’s goal is to empower a community’s sense of ownership through collective design.

The methods of this project will be tested and examined in collaboration with students from Dr. King Elementary School in Syracuse, New York. By designing a participatory method for model-making, the project will involve students in the early stages of urban design and make it more educationally and socially accessible.

35th Anniversary History Book, Collin College

35th anniversary

More than 35 years ago, a small group of community members gathered in a Frisco coffee shop and talked about the need for a community college in Collin County. As a result of that early discussion, Collin College has grown from part-time faculty teaching evening college classes inside area high school classrooms to a renowned higher education institution with five campuses and four centers serving a growing community.
