Background: In 2015, Kebbi state was among the four (4) states in northwestern Nigeria that have low routine immunization performance in the country. National Nutrition and Health Survey 2015 report indicated that only 7.8% of the eligible children have received three doses of DPT/Penta and measles coverage was 14.7%. With increasing ageing populations in Thailand, including sexually diverse communities, there has been little attention to older gay men and transgender women regarding their sexual health and well-being. Several international studies indicated that these communities have been underserved, especially in countries that lack human rights to protect against social and cultural stigma. Carbohydrate is a major composition in oral nutrition supplement. Modification of carbohydrate composition using tapioca resistant maltodextrin (TRM) may improve the glycemic response. This study aimed to investigate the effect of TRM and TRM containing-ONS on glycemic response, satiety, and gastrointestinal (GI) tolerability in healthy individuals. Physicochemical properties and sensory evaluation of developed ONS were also investigated. In Phase I, the peak of plasma glucose and insulin response after TRM (50 g) ingestion was lowest compared to 50 g glucose (GL) and tapioca maltodextrin (TM) in 16 healthy participants. RD43 rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a cross-breed between Khao Jow Hawm Suphan Buri and Supan Buri1. It is characterized as a low amylose content, soft texture, and mild fragrance. However, its potential of metabolic health effect and food application remains unknown. In the present study, daily consumption of RD43 rice containing 14.10 g of undigestible starch for 12 weeks showed a significant reduction in fasting plasma glucose, insulin, HbA1c, and HOMA-IR in prediabetic participants. Many critics have suggested that most of the non-human characters in late-Victorian British science-fiction novels reflect social alienation and the cultural fear of physical, mental and moral degeneration. However, by relying on the concept of critical posthumanism in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries that attempts to debunk anthropocentrism and emphasise the significance of non-human otherness, this thesis studies representations of the body in three British science-fiction novels: Edward Bulwer-Lytton's The Coming Race (1871), H.G. Equity-based crowdfunding (ECF) is a new funding source for Thai startups and small and medium enterprises (SMEs). However, there has been only one ECF fundraising success story in Thailand during the past three years. A mixed-method research approach is employed to investigate the use of accounting and non-accounting information in the Thai ECF setting. Purpose: To compare tensile bond strength among the hybrid materials (VITA ENAMIC®, SHOFU Block HC, Katana AVENCIA and Experimental material) using two primers (Universal ceramic primer and RelyX ceramic primer) and two resin cements (Super-Bond C&B and RelyXTM U200). Methods: Twenty blocks of 4×4×1 mm3 were prepared from each material type. In VITA ENAMIC® group, specimens were conditioned with 5% Hydrofluoric acid and primer. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between chewing efficacy and severity level of cognitive impairment in dementia patients using a smartphone with ViewGum software for chewing efficiency analysis. Participants (n=70) from the Dementia Clinic, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, included 38 dementia patients (76.1±9.0 years) and 32 patients (71.8±9.9Years) with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), diagnosed by the medical specialists. The cognitive impairment was assessed by the TMSE (Thai Mental State Examination), and then scored. Background: When radiotherapy is delivered to head and neck cancer (HNC) patients, the salivary gland (SG) secretory epithelia can be irreversibly injured in up to 60% of the individuals, leading to dry mouth or xerostomia. Radiotherapy’s effectiveness in suppressing HNC growth is correlated with an increase in free radicals that produce DNA damage to the tumor and neighboring organs like the SG. This study had two research objectives: (1) to develop and validate a generalizable model for measuring consumer-based brand equity within the SME setting, and (2) to examine the relationship between SME brand equity and consumer response factors. Human dental pulp cells (hDPCs) have shown their plasticity to differentiate into odontoblast-like cell lineages under the treatment of two-members of hydroxamates HDAC inhibitors (HDACis), Trichostatin A (TSA) and Suberoylanilide hydroxamic acid (SAHA). However, a comparison of the potency for stimulating odontoblast-like differentiation and mineralization process among these two HDACis has not been reported. Quality of bone is an important factor contributing to the success of dental implants. The bone height in maxillary posterior area sometimes is not enough and might pose risks for placing dental implants. Maxillary sinus augmentation with bone substitutes is used for filling and correcting bony defects. This study aims to determine the differences in gene expressions of TNF-alpha, RUNX2, COL1A1, ALP between xenograft (Bio-Oss®) and allograft (SureOss®). Purpose. To evaluate the marginal sealing ability of different restorative materials used in deep margin elevation (DME) on zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate CAD/CAM ceramic restoration. Methods. A total of 30 Class II cavities were prepared in freshly extracted human molars with the proximal gingival margin located 1 mm below the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ). All specimens were randomly assigned to one of three groups (n=10): control group, resin composite group (FiltekTM Z350 XT), and resin-modified glass ionomer group (VitremerTM Tricure). MSCs exert their immunomodulatory effects on various immune cells by cell-cell contact and cytokines secretion. Our previous study has demonstrated that supracrestal gingival connective tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells (SG-MSCs) were recognized to be a good candidate for periodontal regeneration. SG-MSCs showed the similar potential to PDL-MSCs and held significant advantage over PDL-MSCs by which a tooth extraction is not required. Radiotherapy is the standard treatment of head and neck cancer (HNC). The radiation may affect on normal tissue and surrounding salivary gland resulting to xerostomia. Treatment of radiation-related xerostomia focuses on relieving symptoms by using saliva substitutes or saliva stimulants. Because the salivary stimulants have significant side effects, such as sweating, dizziness or increasing urge to urinate, saliva substitutes are preferable. This study aimed to examine the differences in mechanical and physical properties of Ti-6Al-4V extra low interstitial (ELI) fabricated by selective laser melting (SLM) between different laser power. The Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy samples were printed in dumbbell shape by SLM machine (Trumpf/TruPrint 1000, Germany) with 3 laser powers (75, 100 and 125 W), 8 samples for each group. And the other parameters (spot size 30 µm, scanning speed 600 mm/s, layer thickness 30 µm) were kept constantly. All samples were performed under tensile test with universal testing machine.
