Effect Of Removal Of Auraonce™ Laryngeal Mask In Awake Or Deep Anaesthesia: A Randomized Controlled Trial, Ronald Ombaka, Vitalis Mung’Ayi, David Nekyon, Samina Mir

Background: The manufacturer Ambu® recommends that the AuraOnce™ laryngeal mask be removed once the patient is fully awake. Studies have shown benefit in removal of the laryngeal mask airway while a patient is deeply anaesthetized. Current evidence is inconclusive, as to which approach is preferable and safer in adults.

Methods: one hundred and sixteen adult patients were randomly assigned to two groups of 58. For the deep arm; The AuraOnceTM laryngeal mask was removed after attaining an end tidal minimum alveolar concentration of Isoflurane of 1.15%. This paper focuses on the comparative analysis of Mikhail Bulgakov’s Heart of a Dog and Vladimir Mayakovsky’s “How I Became a Dog.” After providing a brief historical and biographical context to these authors and their respective works, this thesis, while it explores the similarities, mainly focuses on the differences in themes and concepts in these two works and how they relate to the authors’ differing views and interesting relationship as contemporaries. This article focuses on Maryse Condé's depiction of medicine and science in her 1986 novel Mai, Tituba, sorcière. It argues that Tituba's critique of modern western medicine, as well as her definition of witchcraft as a healing art, resonate with some topical feminist issues around the time of its publication. Condé's rewriting of the Salem witchtrials emphasizes indeed the epistemological, as well as metaphysical, conflict between the female Caribbean healer and the male doctor whose diagnoses contribute to Tituba's condemnation. As Tituba's confidence in her power and knowledge grows, she also impersonates the danger of an arrogant science, forgoing Man …

This interview was conducted with Dr. Xiaoyan Xiao, a professor from Xiamen University in China. She describes her path to becoming a spoken language interpreter and linguist and explains how she developed an interest in signed language research. She also explains how signed language interpreting is developing in China and how she is partnering with the national Deaf association to bring about change. Her experiences offer interpreters and educators a glimpse into some of the many exciting developments in China.

Breast surgery operations are generally performed by general anesthesia. In order to decrease postoperative pain, regional anesthesia is usually combined with general anesthesia. Pectoral nerve blocks is a novel technique to provide perioperative and postoperative pain control for patients underwent breast surgery. We performed pectoral nerve block I and pectoral nerve block II as a sole anesthetic technique with sedation by dexmedetomidine for modified radical mastectomy, for a 75-year-old female patient with multiple diseases. Pectoral nerve blocks with sedation could be a good technique for breast surgery than general anesthesia in comorbid patients.

My Honors Senior Project is a biography of Denis Diderot in the form of a children's song. MY understanding of Diderot's life is based on Andrew Curran's book, Diderot and the Art of Thinking Freely.

Songs help us memorize and retain information about the world, and singing songs together strengthens cultural and religious connections. Secular (nonreligious) people need songs, too. Diderot was a philosopher who didn't believe in God. He was an editor of L'Encyclopédie, one of the first encyclopedias, and he snuck in articles that challenged how people think. The purposes of this study were to create a curriculum map for a potential Bachelor of Arts in Dance Education for a four-year university, promote quality dance education, and find ways to advocate for dance programs in rural communities. To determine the data, the researcher created an electronic survey, met with participants in person, and recorded interviews to collect the evidence. Thirty-six electronic survey participants were current and former dance educators. The purpose of this study was to determine if weekly participation in a ballet class improved upon the gross motor skills of students with Down Syndrome. This study is important because the student participants all showed growth in their gross motor abilities as well as overall strength and physical functioning. Relations Between Self-Regulation, Divergent Thinking, And Perceived Stress In Emerging Adults, Haven Wright

This study investigated the relationships between self-regulation and stress, self-regulation and creativity, and perceived stress as a mediator for the relationship between self-regulation and creativity. Questionnaires were administered to undergraduate students to individually access each construct. Creativity was measured through divergent thinking and self-regulation was measured through the SRS and effortful control. Regression analyses were run to determine the relationships between the constructs. A negative association was found between effortful control and stress. Individual positive relationships were found between effortful control and all of the creative thinking styles except convergent-unpleasant. Lastly, the indirect effect of effortful control on the convergent-unpleasant …

The purpose of this study was to explore how undergraduate students experienced and understood academic advising within the context of a four-year centralized, primary role advising center at a public research university in the mid-south. This qualitative study included 13 undergraduate juniors or seniors from the liberal arts college of a large research university. Using phenomenological methods, I explored the lived experience of these students’ advising experiences through a series of focus groups and one-on-one interviews with the goal of understanding how academic advising impacted the students’ sense of connectedness to the university. This Note examines the continuing harms of lead-based paint and attempts by cities and states to hold manufacturers and distributors liable for abatement under the public nuisance doctrine. Such suits have stretched traditional conceptions of public nuisance, particularly on the threshold issue of whether pervasive lead paint in residences infringes on a common right held by the public. This Note reviews the major lead paint public nuisance cases from across the country. AI, however, is no longer a fictional concept, but rather an evolving part of modern society. How will AI systems impact United States’ national security interests? Considering the increased national security threat coming from actors in cyberspace, policymakers should consider the cybersecurity risk of AI systems that operate entirely in cyberspace.
