The successive arrival of freight trains to the station performing border control of trains leads to a glut of adjacent sections by trains, mainly due to the employment of border guard brigades. Without the use of operational solutions in such conditions, the reserve of bandwidth is reduced and the need for locomotives is increased due to hot downtimes when the train station is not accepted for border control. This article has developed a methodology for regulating train locomotives, which allows to increase the useful work of train locomotives. The developed methodology will assist engineers and technicians in the connection of …

Geometric Formation Of Schemes Of Technical Objects In Automated Design Systems, M.A. Khadzhimuhametova
Geometric Formation Of Schemes Of Technical Objects In Automated Design Systems, M.A. Khadzhimuhametova
Journal of Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers
This paper discusses the issues of mathematical support for the formation of various schemes of complex technical objects for a computer-aided design subsystem. Information is given on the description of the station diagram using finite element methods. On the one hand, it is required that the mathematical model be as universal as possible (cover all types of de-signed schemes), accurate, algorithmically reliable. On the other hand, it is required to ensure the minimum cost of the required memory of com-puter time. These contradictions are eliminated by creating a bank of models. Models are planned from separate modules of structural and …

We investigate the jamming transition in a quasi-2D granular material composed of regular pentagons or disks subjected to quasistatic uniaxial compression. We report six major findings based on experiments with monodisperse photoelastic particles with static friction coefficient μ≈1. (1) For both pentagons and disks, the onset of rigidity occurs when the average coordination number of non-rattlers, Znr, reaches 3, and the dependence of Znr on the packing fraction ϕ changes again when Znr reaches 4. (2) Though the packing fractions ϕc1 and ϕc2 at these transitions differ from run to run, for both shapes the data from all runs with …

Economic Design Of Acceptance Sampling Plans For Truncated Life Tests Using Three-Parameter Lindley Distribution, Amer Ibrahim Al-Omari, Enrico Ciavolino, Amjad D. Al-Nasser
Journal of Modern Applied Statistical Methods
A single acceptance sampling plan for the three-parameter Lindley distribution under a truncated life test is developed. For various consumer’s confidence levels, acceptance numbers, and values of the ratio of the experimental time to the specified average lifetime, the minimum sample size important to assert a certain average lifetime are calculated. The operating characteristic (OC) function values as well as the associated producer’s risks are also provided. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the suggested acceptance sampling plans.
Linear Instability Of Inviscid Jets With Thermo-Capillarity, Abdullah M. Alsharif
Linear Instability Of Inviscid Jets With Thermo-Capillarity, Abdullah M. Alsharif
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
This study deals with the investigation of the temporal and spatial instability of inviscid jets with the effects of the thermal energy. The variation of surface tension causes Marangoni flow that affects drop formation and break-up of liquid jets. The governing equations are reduced into one-dimensional model using an asymptotic analysis. The dispersion relation for thermo-capillary inviscid liquid jets is derived to examine the behavior of the dimensionless parameter of the linear instability. Moreover, the growth rate and the maximum wavenumber are displayed along the jet.

Analytical Solutions Of Incompressible Couple Stress Fluid Flows, Imran Siddique, Yousra Umbreen
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In the present article, we intend to solve the Stokes first and second problems for an incompressible couple stress fluid under isothermal conditions. The solutions of the considered problems are obtained by the Laplace transform (LT) as for the time variable $t$ and the sine Fourier transform (FT) as for the $y$-variable. It ought be noticed that by suitable manipulations of the inverse integral transforms, fluid velocity expressions are written as the sum of steady-state (post-transient solution) and transient solutions. Further, we wish to give a comparison of the obtained results and the results obtained by Devakar and Lyengar \cite{1} …

Stochastic Model Of Crude Oil Spot Price Process As A Jump-Diffusion Process, Chisara Peace Ogbogbo
Stochastic Model Of Crude Oil Spot Price Process As A Jump-Diffusion Process, Chisara Peace Ogbogbo
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
Although crude oil is a major source of energy throughout the world, unexpected jumps in its price cause remarkable economic events globally. Countries such as Nigeria and Venezuela, whose major foreign exchange earner is crude oil. have experienced economic recession because of the recent huge drop in its price. Thus, understanding the dynamics of its price has become necessary. Moreover, obtaining a model that properly describes crude oil spot price movement is useful for strategic investment planning, managing market risks and even for short time forecasting. Crude oil price exhibits jumps, so Gaussian models will fail to capture the real …

The present paper investigates the electromechanical coupling and the propagation of Bleustein–Gulyaev (B-G) wave in a transversely isotropic piezoelectric composed half-space under the effect of initial stress. It also addresses the dispersion relation of the Bleustein-Gulyaev wave. The suitable electrical and mechanical boundary conditions are considered for the electric potential, and electric displacements. The dispersion relation is computed numerically and illustrated graphically for the electric open and short cases for different thicknesses of the layer and wave number under the effect initial stress. The results indicate that the Bleustein-Gulyaev wave and electro-mechanical coupling factor are influenced by initial stress and …
Dynamic Channel Assignment And Gateway Load Balanced Routing For Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks, K. Saravanan, A. Chilambuchelvan
Dynamic Channel Assignment And Gateway Load Balanced Routing For Multi-Channel Wireless Mesh Networks, K. Saravanan, A. Chilambuchelvan
Applied Mathematics & Information Sciences
In this paper, we propose the dynamic channel assignment and Gateway (GW) load balanced routing protocol. In this protocol, a combined cost metric is determined incorporating channel quality, switching cost and queue length. Then the GW having the minimum cost metric is selected by the source node. Then channels are fairly assigned in the network by the selected GW between itself and the mesh clients. In GW load balanced routing, the GW selects a path with the minimum load based on the interface queue length. Congestion is detected at any intermediate router based on Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (EWMA) of …
Written In Black, White, And Red: An Exploration Of Civilizer Theology In American History, Jeremy Mcginniss
Written In Black, White, And Red: An Exploration Of Civilizer Theology In American History, Jeremy Mcginniss
Master's Theses
This paper proposes an extended definition and discusses examples of civilizer theology within the perceptions and practices of white Protestant American Christianity faith traditions. Civilizer theology is defined as a self-referential, self-fulfilling framework actively shaping the expectations, behaviors and practices of societal norms driving cultural practices. Examples are selected as guided by three significant and interdependent dispositions characterizing civilizer theology: cultural decay/moral decline, authority, and violence. This paper hypothesizes theological interpretation, application and exegesis, mediated by the three dispositions, are deliberately applied to support socio-economic, cultural and political ends with the goal of maintaining power structures benefiting a particular group.
