The Moderating Role Of Trait Anger In The Relationship Between Masculine Stress And Intimate Partner Violence, Cantyo Atindriyo Dannisworo, Hana Berliani Adiningsih, Mellia Christia
Psychological Research on Urban Society
There is a high rate of intimate partner violence (IPV) in urban settings. Previous research has found that masculine gender role stress (MGRS) and anger predict IPV. This study aimed to examine the moderating role of anger on the relationship between MGRS and IPV. The sample included 366 urban male college students across Java, who completed an online questionnaire. Measures used were the MGRS-A, BPAQ, and CTS2. Using Hayes’ moderation analysis, the model obtained a significant fit (R2 = .1039, F (3,362) = 13.994, p = .000). Both MGRS (p = .0264) and trait anger (p = .000) predicted IPV. …

Enhancing Secrecy And Capacity Of Wireless Systems Using Directive Communications, Mohammed A. Hafez
Enhancing Secrecy And Capacity Of Wireless Systems Using Directive Communications, Mohammed A. Hafez
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The emerging advances in wireless communications make it an essential component of our everyday life. Moreover, the current research aims towards involving wireless communications in health monitoring applications, which helps medical personnel to remotely keep track of the development of the condition of their patients. Such information is considered highly sensitive and may cause significant harm if acquired by an adversary. The wireless environment has a broadcast type of nature, where the emitted electromagnetic waves spread all over the surrounding area of the transmitting antenna. This broadcast nature raises a considerable concern about the secrecy of this sensitive information while …

Interventions To Improve Older Driver Safety, Bernadette A. Fausto
Interventions To Improve Older Driver Safety, Bernadette A. Fausto
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Increased longevity coupled with age-related declines that compromise driving safety and fragility render older adults as vulnerable road users (Oxley & Whelan, 2008). To address this public health concern, researchers continue to investigate interventions to improve older driver safety. The current dissertation consists of two papers examining: a) the state of the literature on older driver interventions and b) the efficacy of one approach, Useful Field of View cognitive training, to reduce at-fault crash involvement. The first paper sought to identify and quantify the effects of different interventions among older adults on outcomes of crashes, on-road driving performance, self-reported outcomes …

Finding Legitmacy On European Union Trade Policy To Limit The Import Of Palm Oil: Will Indonesia Survive (Again)?, Nandang Sutrisno
Finding Legitmacy On European Union Trade Policy To Limit The Import Of Palm Oil: Will Indonesia Survive (Again)?, Nandang Sutrisno
Indonesian Journal of International Law
In March 2019, the European Union considered palm oil to cause ILUC along with being one of the contributors for emission and pollution. However, the move has been condemned by palm oil exporting States, such as Indonesia. It is accused as a modern, “green protectionist” move to protect national market or other countries importing goods. Since European Union uses environmental justification to restrict palm oil import from Indonesia, it is inherently correlated with the general exception enshrined in Article XX of the GATT relating to the principles of international trade. Under the assessment based on Article XX and judicial decisions …
The Impact Of Political Decisions Within The Wto Dispute Settlement System: Political Negotiations Within Adjudication, Meaza Haddis Gebeyehu
The Impact Of Political Decisions Within The Wto Dispute Settlement System: Political Negotiations Within Adjudication, Meaza Haddis Gebeyehu
Indonesian Journal of International Law
It is traditionally contended that politics and law are two separate domains of international relations among the main actors, states. As opposed to this thinking, international relations of the twenty-first century have been characterized by the continuing interaction of law and politics. As the main actors and participants in international law, states played and still play significant roles in this development. The growing sense of nationalism within states and the concomitant consequence of prioritizing their respective national interests led to the use, by these states, of international law as an instrument of justification. When international law is used this way, …

Impact Of Hydration Status On Electromyography And Ratings Of Perceived Exertion During The Vertical Jump, Paul T. Donahue, Samuel J. Wilson, Charles C. Williams, Melinda Valliant, John C. Garner
Faculty Publications
Background: The vertical jumping task is commonly used to assess lower-body power output in athletic populations, in addition to being commonly used to during investigations of hydration and anaerobic performance. Changes in neuromuscular function during a hypohydrated state have been proposed as a potential mechanism to decreases in anaerobic performance.
Objectives: The primary purpose of this investigation was to examine the impact of hydration state on electromyography during the vertical jumping task.
Methods: Twenty recreationally trained males were tested in three hydration conditions (hypohydrated, euhydrated, and control). Testing included maximal voluntary contractions of the vastus lateralis, vastus …

An Archaeological Investigation Of Enslavement At Gamble Plantation, S. Matthew Litteral
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
In this thesis, I have compiled information from archives, remote sensing, and archaeological excavation to shed light upon an understudied chapter of Florida’s history, specifically, African American heritage components at Gamble Plantation. My goal is to provide a better understanding of the daily lives of enslaved individuals who were held in bondage at Gamble Plantation (8MA100), located along the Manatee River in Ellenton, Fl. Through my work, I hope to engage descendant communities in future archaeological research and promote a more balanced and inclusive historical narrative for Gamble Plantation State Park.
Chemolithotrophic Denitrification Of Nitrate Contaminated Groundwater Using Sulfur-Bearing Minerals, John Sutton
Chemolithotrophic Denitrification Of Nitrate Contaminated Groundwater Using Sulfur-Bearing Minerals, John Sutton
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Nitrate contamination in groundwater resources poses a serious threat, not only to the health of those who would drink it, but also as a potential nutrient for eutrophication. Current methods of nitrate removal can efficiently remove nitrate below 10 mg/L as nitrogen, but may require resources unavailable to small community water systems (SCWS). Sulfur-oxidizing biological denitrification is a promising alternative that may be more suitable for SCWS. Sulfur-oxidizing denitrification has previously been shown to have a high nitrate removal efficiency; however, it produces water high in sulfate. Utilization of sulfide-bearing minerals, rather than elemental sulfur as an electron donor, may …
Evaluating The Effect Of Temperature On A Human Parasite And Its Intermediate Snail Host: Implications For A Changing Climate, Karena H. Nguyen
Evaluating The Effect Of Temperature On A Human Parasite And Its Intermediate Snail Host: Implications For A Changing Climate, Karena H. Nguyen
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Global climate change is impacting the emergence, re-emergence, prevalence, and incidence of infectious diseases worldwide, including parasitic diseases of humans (Blum and Hotez 2018). Neglected tropical diseases, defined as a group of parasitic diseases affecting developing countries in the tropics (Hotez et al. 2007), are of particular concern because these diseases occur in areas that are also expected to experience rapid population growth and agricultural development in the coming decades. As human population and food demand increase, the greater the likelihood of humans encountering intermediate hosts that either inhabit agricultural areas or are impacted by agricultural development, which will influence …
