Acta of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

An antipodal Vivaldi antenna with a compact parasitic patch to overcome radiation performance degradations in the high-frequency band is proposed. For this purpose, a double asymmetric trapezoidal parasitic patch is designed and added to the aperture of an antipodal Vivaldi antenna. The proposed antenna has a peak gain greater than 7 dBi over the frequency range of 6–90 GHz.

Evaluation Safety Of Vehicle Motion In The Condition Of Visual Impairment, Akmal Rustamov, Kongratbay Sharipov Dec 2019

Evaluation Safety Of Vehicle Motion In The Condition Of Visual Impairment, Akmal Rustamov, Kongratbay Sharipov

Acta of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

Given the lack of visual information, potentially dangerous sections of the roadway are a significant cause of traffic accidents. Currently, one of the basic principles of increasing the active safety of a car is information support for the driver. However, the existing methods and means of information support for the driver have several disadvantages. Thus, the use of video recording systems is limited in conditions of insufficient visibility (for example, in difficult weather conditions), inertial navigation systems are expensive, and the use of specialized road laboratories to register the boundaries of the roadway is laborious and expensive. The ability of …

Acta of Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

Fluid power (hydraulic and pneumatic actuation) as an integral part of manufacturing and transportation has big impact in real sector of economy. In 2008, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, average efficiency of Fluid Power Systems amounted 22%, while the sales of systems using fluid power exceeded $226B. As large as the industry is, it has had little fundamental research that could lead to improved efficiency since the 1970 energy crisis. While there have been some attempts to improve fluid powered components separately, there has been lack of attention to the societal impact of the whole industry. This article analyzes …

Treatment Of A Work-Related Superior Glenoid Labral Repair: A Case Report, Alexandra Touri Dec 2019

Treatment Of A Work-Related Superior Glenoid Labral Repair: A Case Report, Alexandra Touri

Case Report Posters

A superior glenoid labrum tear is a common injury in the shoulder. The highest incidences of superior labrum tear from anterior to posterior (SLAP) lesions occur in individuals from 20-29 years old and 40-49 years old. Common signs and symptoms include: instability in the joint, shoulder dislocations, pain with overhead activities, decreased range of motion, and loss of strength. SLAP lesions are less commonly seen in the workplace. There is little detail/research about which joint mobilizations/therapeutic exercises are most beneficial for this population. The purpose of this case report is to explore the post-operative PT management of a Workers’ Compensation …
