Experimental Evidence For Selection Against Hybrids Between Two Interfertile Red Oak Species, Oliver Gailing, Ruhua Zhang

Reproductive isolation between related oak species within one taxonomic section is incomplete. Even though pre- and post-zygotic isolation mechanisms have been described for interfertile oak species, natural hybridization is common in contact zones between related oaks. The apparent restriction of inter-specific hybrids between ecologically divergent species to intermediate environments in contact zones suggests postzygotic isolation via environmental selection against hybrids in parental environments. Overrepresentation of hybrids in seeds as compared to adult trees provides additional indirect evidence for selection against hybrids. Methods: We used 60 extracted human mandibular first molars with mesial root curvatures of 20° to 30°. Objective: We describe how to assess the degree of canal curvature and manage a separated instrument using an ultrasonic device. Case Report: A 24-year-old female was referred by a general dentist for an accidentally separated Protaper F2 instrument. The mesiobuccal canal was enlarged and the separated instrument could be visualized via the dental operating microscope. Preoperative radiography revealed a separated endodontic instrument at the middle to apical third of the mesiobuccal canal. Mesiobuccal canal curvature measured 66°. Objectives: This study sought to evaluate the efficacy of two irrigation delivery systems; the EndoVac and semiconductor diode laser irradiation with 5.25% sodium hypochlorite and 2% chlorhexidine. Methods: Fifty teeth were disinfected according to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations. Traumatic bone cyst (TBC) is a jaw disorder that is asymptomatic, slow growing, and usually detected during routine panoramic examinations. The etiology and pathogenesis of TBC are still unknown. The lack of information and scarce research efforts on TBC has made it difficult for operators to appropriately diagnose and monitor cases, which often requires extensive treatment. Here, we report the case of a moderate-sized TBC, scalloping and pass¬ing through the mandibular midline and suspected to be a malignant lesion.

Objective: To analyze the association between temporomandibular disorder and quality of sleep among nurses in a type C private hospital using the ID-TMD and PSQI Indonesian version questionnaire. Methods: This cross-sectional study assessed the data of 92 nurses in Hasanah Graha Afiah Hospital, Depok City, West Java, Indonesia. Three questionnaires were administered to each hospital nurse. People navigate life more successfully and find more joy when they are able to regulate emotion in healthy ways. Teaching and helping clients regulate emotion in healthy ways is an important part of many psychotherapy approaches. In this paper, we focus on the emotion of anger from a theistic therapy perspective, arguing that understanding the nature of God’s anger and human anger in the scriptures can inform theistic therapy practice. To establish this understanding, we analyzed cases of the word anger in the scriptures through content analysis (e.g., quantitative) and hermeneutic analysis (e.g., qualitative). Public land plays a central role in contemporary urban planning struggles. Using a comparative case study approach focused on the north-eastern US cities of Newark and New York City, we uncover patterns of land acquisition and dispossession that fit five broad and often overlapping periods in planning history: City Beautiful, metropolitan reorganization, deindustrialization, and devaluation, followed by hyper-commodification in New York City and redevelopment amidst disinvestment in Newark. Through this periodization, we find that accumulation and alienation of urban public land has largely taken place through two modes of municipalization (targeted and reactive) and two modes of privatization (community-led and …

It is generally understood that the way to discourage particular behavior in individuals is to punish that behavior, on the theory that rational individuals seek to avoid punishment. Laws aimed at deterring behavior operate on the assumption that increasing the likelihood of punishment, the severity of punishment, or both, will decrease the behavior. The success of these laws is evaluated by how much the targeted behavior decreases. When foreign sovereigns default on their debt, creditors sometimes sue them. These creditors are sophisticated actors, and they know that if they sue, courts can do little to force a sovereign to satisfy a judgment. Why do they sue? This Article argues that these creditors sue because they use litigation to produce information about the debtor state or its government that induces third parties to sanction or refuse to deal with the state or the government. The ability to produce such information strengthens the litigating creditors’ bargaining position in settlement negotiations. Governments generally use enforcement methods, such as audits and the imposition of penalties, to deter noncompliance with tax laws. Although this approach is consistent with most economic modeling of tax compliance, some scholars caution that enforcement may backfire, “crowding out” taxpayers’ intrinsic motivations to pay taxes to such an extent that they reduce their tax payments. The oil pump was tested to circulate pre-heated refined sunflower oil in Thermal Energy Storage (TES) tank comprising of an oil only and rock pebble-oil system and cooking application. They comprise over 90 million hectares throughout the country. However, the establishment and upkeep of these protected areas often incites conflict both between and among local actors. The exhibit presented a celebratory tone in honor of the innocent people who unknowingly and victoriously participated in the construction of the atomic bomb that aided the Allies in their successful end of WWII.
