A method of treating cancerous tumors is presented herein. The method includes injecting an effective dose of a plasmid encoded for IL-12, B7-1 or IL-15 into a cancerous tumor and subsequently administering at least one high voltage, short duration pulse to the tumor. The electroporation pulses may be administered at at least 700V/cm for a duration of less than 1 millisecond. The intratumor treatments with electroporation may be administered in at least a two-treatment protocol with the time between treatments being about 7 days. Characterizing Temperature Variability States Across Southern South America And Associated Synoptic-Scale Meteorological Patterns, Judah Adam Detzer

The aim of this thesis is to understand spatiotemporal temperature variability in southern South America by identifying overarching temperature variability states and their associated synoptic-scale meteorological patterns. Further, the temporal frequency of occurrence of those temperature variability states is investigated as is the role of recurrent low-frequency modes of climate variability (El Niño Southern Oscillation and the Southern Annular Mode) on temperature variability. K-means cluster analysis is used to group all months during the period 1980-2015 into four primary categories for summer and winter separately. This study was to understand predictors on social networks and health-promoting lifestyles(HPLS).Total of 354 old adults residing in South Korea and immigrants in the U.S. participated. The scores of two variables were higher in the Korean immigrant. There was a positive relationship between social networks and HPLS in both groups.

Disaster-nursing skills based on OSCE are associated with the readiness for disaster management competency. Predictors of disaster-nursing skills based on OSCE include gender, nursing ladder, and previously received disaster training. The nurse practitioner study found NPs working alone were 0.24 times as likely to report non-billable time when compared to NPs working in the large institution with over 30 personnel. In addition, primary care provider NPs spend more non-billable time than do non-primary care providers at a rate of 1.17.

This systematic review explores caregiver barriers to HPV vaccination in the African-American and Afro-Caribbean population in order to guide health promotion strategies to counteract existing obstacles to HPV vaccination, particularly in this population who is disproportionately affected by higher rates of HPV and HPV-associated cancers than most others.

This is the first trial to exam the impact of cognitive rehabilitation interventions in mild cognitive impairment community-dwelling elderly in Taiwan. We found that this intervention could improve the cognitive function, quality of life, self-efficacy and depressive mood among the participants. However, there is no impact on their physical function.

Intimate partner violence (IPV) can impact women's quality of life (QOL). Family and friend support was found to alleviate the adverse effect of IPV. However, little is known about the interaction effects of such support and IPV on QOL in Thai women. Findings from this study can inform nursing interventions.
