Perkembangan penelitian material khususnya untuk keramik maju saat ini mulai menuju ke arah komputasi material dalam perancangan material baru atau untuk simulasi pemodelan material. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan perangkat lunak CP2K untuk kalkulasi energi suatu material dengan menggunakan prinsip pertama atau ab initio. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menghitung nilai bulk modulus kristal silikon karbida dengan menggunakan perangkat lunak CP2K. Energi material yang dihitung adalah kristal keramik SiC 3C, yang selanjutnya dihitung dengan menggunakan persamaan Birch-Murnaghan untuk mengetahui nilai bulk modulus dari data energi hasil kalkulasi. Pertumbuhan tanaman mangkokan dan puring dalam media air olahan limbah salah satu kantin di lingkungan kampus Jatinangor menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik bila dibandingkan dalam media air limbah kantin yang tanpa diolah terlebih dulu. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari tumbuhnya akar dan pucuk daun baru.Pengolahan pendahuluan dilakukan dengan memasukkan irisan batang pisang dalam air limbah kantin selama 2 jam. Perlakuan ini berhasil menurunkan jumlah total koloni bakteri yaitu sebesar 57,13%. Selanjutnya dilakukan bioadsorpsi menggunakan ampas teh (10 g/L), proses ini menyebabkan perubahan nilai pH air limbah menuju pH normal. Tanaman miana (Coleous scutellarioides) merupakan salah satu tanaman tropis yang mengandung antosianin yang dapat berpotensi sebagai zat warna alami. Pigmen antosianin memiliki stabilitas yang rendah, namun dapat ditingkatkan dengan mikroenkapsulasi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menentukan kinetika degradasi serbuk antosianin daun miana hasil mikroenkapsulasi. Mikroenkapsulasi dilakukan dengan menambahkan maltodekstrin berbagai konsentrasi (8, 10, 12, dan 14% b/v) dalam ekstrak daun miana. Daun miana diekstrak menggunakan pelarut asam tartarat 2% (b/v). Serbuk antosianin disimpan dalam inkubator pada suhu 25, 35, dan 45°C. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa reaksi degradasi antosianin mengikuti orde 2. Pada penelitian ini pengabuan ilalang dilakukan pada suhu 900°C selama 8 jam dan digunakan sebagai katalis basa pada pembuatan biodiesel yang dilakukan dengan proses elektrokatalitik menggunakan elektrode grafit dengan tegangan DC 18,2 V. Proses elektrokatalitik campuran minyak jelantah, metanol dan katalis abu ilalang (2, 3 dan 5% berat katalis terhadap minyak) berlangsung pada suhu kamar dengan rasio molar minyak terhadap metanol sebesar 1:6 selama 60 menit dengan perbandingan volume pelarut THF terhadap metanol sebesar 1:1. Operating room nurses are constantly challenged with new surgical procedures and technology that affect the delivery of safe patient care. A deficiency in skill sets was identified among 50% of OR nurses in this microsystem. A structured scrub training program will improve the performance of novice and advanced beginner nurses to prevent the occurrence of adverse events. This program includes 320 hours of exposure to scrub the top ten procedures of two specialty services after the nurse learns how to circulate. This project focuses on the prevention of patient falls in the emergency department (ED). Kaiser Santa Clara Hospital is an academic medical facility in the heart of Silicon Valley. The facility has a 46 bed ED with an average daily census of 220, specializing in stroke, pediatrics, heart, and left-ventricular assist device (LVAD) patients. Direct observations were conducted to assess medication administration (MA) accuracy and practices in order to determine the root cause(s) of errors at a community-based, non-profit hospital. Political Exiles Reckon With Rising China And A Lost Cause, Han Chen

This capstone explores the overseas Chinese democracy movement in the United States. English-language coverage about the movement has been limited, and little systemic coverage exists. However, the exile movement is fundamental to understanding how China’s most prominent political opposition is faring as China became the second largest world economy. It will also detail human drama and infighting in this exile community. I interviewed more than a dozen U.S.-based political exiles, journalists and experts, in both Chinese and English.

After much success with last year’s first-ever production of Disney’s “Aladdin JR.," the St. Ephrem students put on “Elf the Musical JR.” in time for the winter holiday season in December 2017. But it’s not your mediocre school drama club, putting on simple pageants. It’s more like Broadway Lite – and it’s part of a cross-country wave of professionalization hitting grade-school plays.
