The Influence Of The Eu's Collective Identity On Smart Sanctions Imposed On Russia And Their Effect On Russian Financial Institutions, Sunil Kumar Dash

Beginning in early 2014, the EU introduced and extended a range of smart sanctions against Russia in protest at Russian involvement in destabilizing Ukraine and violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity. By utilizing theoretical elements of constructivism with process tracing method, this thesis examines the influence of the EU's collective identity on smart sanctions imposed on Russia. The analysis finds that the EU's "collective identity" stipulated the "objective interests" and "subjective interests" to its actors and influenced the "actions" of smart sanctions by extending extra restrictive measures for Russian financial institutions to increase the cost of smart sanctions imposed on Russia. …

Field and remote-sensing investigations have been performed for mapping the Mesozoic siliciclastic rocks of the Phu Phan Ranges (PPR), northeastern Thailand. Stratigraphically, the PPR study area has been remapped and is occupied by 5 distinct successive formations, including the Phu Kradung Formation with the average thickness of 93 m, the Phra Wihan Formation with the average thickness of 64 m, the Sao Khua Formation with the average thickness of 63 m, the Phu Phan with the average thickness of 84 m, and the Khok Kruat with the average thickness of 49 m. At the southwestern rim of the Khorat Plateau, the upstream part of the Mun River flows through clastic sedimentary rocks leading to a massive amount of sand was transported via the Mun River to downstream. Myanmar is committed to achieve unfinished agenda for reducing child mortality, fourth indicator of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and global target to achieve under-five mortality rate 25 per 1000 live births in 2030. Moreover, under-five mortality varies across states and regions within the country and the study aims to explore determinants of mortality across different health care planning zones. The results showed that infants who were breastfed had lower risk of death by 11.7 percent comparison with children who were not, and twin or multiple births were more likely to die by 8.1%. The objectives of this study aimed to evaluate the Technical Efficiency of public district hospitals in Vietnam and to determine factors affecting the hospitals' efficiency. Input-Oriented Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model was applied to estimate the technical efficiency scores among 52 public district hospitals in 6 provinces of Vietnam in 2014. Then, Tobit regression model was employed to explore the determinant factors. Macrophages respond to various stimuli, resulting in distinct effector phenotypes that range from LPS-stimulated proinflammatory to IL-4-activated pro-healing phenotype. The regulatory mechanism of this polarization is not fully understood. Notch signaling pathway is a conserved signaling pathway involved in polarization of macrophages, especially proinflammatory macrophages. However, the role of Notch signaling in IL-4 stimulated macrophages (M(IL-4)) is not well defined. The emergence and increase of resistance to antimicrobial agents, especially to extended-spectrum cephalosporins (ESCs) and fluoroquinolones in nontyphoidal Salmonella have recently become a serious therapeutic problem. The objectives of this study were to characterize antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, the clonality, and plasmid profiles among nontyphoidal Salmonella isolates from human and food animals in Thailand. A total of 897 nontyphoidal Salmonella isolates, 617 isolates from human and 280 isolates from food animal in Thailand during 2005 to 2007 and 2012 to 2016 were included in this study. Dengue virus causes a global burden that specific chemotherapy has not been established in a clinical setting. A previous report suggested that anacardic acid saturated (C15:0), a member of phenolic lipids, inhibited hepatitis C virus infection. Here, we explored structure activity relationship of phenolic lipids homologues with anti-DENV properties in the cell-based system. Our results indicated that Cardol triene (C15:3) expressed DENV1-4 inhibition, but not to Zika virus (SV0010/15) with the EC50s of 5.35 ± 1.16 µM, 7.13 ± 0.72 µM, 8.98 ± 1.77 µM, and 8.21 ± 0.34 µM, respectively. Recently, it has been shown to enhance anti-cancer activity of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) against human colon cancer in vitro. Green microalgae are one of the natural resources for productions of various and beneficial bioactive compounds, such as UV-screening compounds and carotenoids. This study focuses on the changes of carotenoids and metabolisms in the green microalga Chlorococcum sp. 8367RE under stress conditions. The results showed that stresses by salt, light, drought, and nitrogen starvation affected on alterations of morphological characteristics. Interestingly, size of cells culturing under salt stresses dramatically increased. It should be noted that KCl stress caused the enlargement of cell sizes approximately 5 folds. The aim of this study was to test the effect of the Uncertainty Management Program (UMP) on quality of life among Vietnamese women at 3-weeks post mastectomy. The quasi-experimental design with posttest only was conducted in 115 women with post mastectomy who were assigned in experimental group (n=57) and control group (n=58). The experimental group received the UMP and routine care while the control group received only routine care. Puerarin (Pur) is herbal medicine that its inflammatory response but low solubility to reduce activity. Thus, the aim of this study was to synthesize q188-kappa-carrageenan@Pur@gold nanoparticles (q188-κ-c@Pur@AuNPs) for enhancing solubility and transdermal delivery. The κ-c was synthesized by quaternization of κ-c with 25% (v/v) q188, and the q188-κ-c @AuNPs was prepared by reducing HAuCl4 into AuNPs by using 25% (v/v) q188-κ-c as reducing and stabilizing agents. In this research, hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) of oleic acid (model compound of palm oil) over unsupported Co-Mo and Ni-Mo sulfide catalysts was carried out in Parr reactor to produce bio-hydrogenated diesel (BHD). The effects of reaction parameters: temperature, hydrogen pressure and the mole ratio of catalysts (Ni/(Ni+Mo) or Co/(Co+Mo)) on the conversion and product yields (mainly n-C17 and n-C18 hydrocarbons) were investigated to find the optimal conditions. The results showed that high pressure favored a HDO pathway, while high temperature strongly affected to decarboxylation and decarbonylation pathways. Grammatophyllum speciosum Blume (Orchidaceae) is a large-sized orchid in Southeast Asia. The aim of this study was to evaluate G. speciosum pseudobulb extract for anti-aging activities, both in vitro and in vivo. In vitro anti-aging activity was performed using non-cell and cell-based assays. In vitro study, G. speciosum pseudobulb extract exhibited a high content of gastrodin, which was used as an active analytical marker. The total content of the antioxidant polyphenols in G. speciosum ethanolic extract was 48.19 ± 0.39 mg epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) equivalent / g extract.
