Isoquinoline alkaloids, a plant secondary metabolites present in many plant species including lotus (Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.). Lotus leaf contains high amount of bioactive nuciferine and N-nornuciferine. A set of enzyme including NCS, 6OMT and CNMT and WRKY transcription factors (WRKY TFs) has been reported to have corresponding function in the biosynthesis isoquinoline alkaloids. Thus, we performed quantitative analysis on expression level of these corresponing genes and on nuciferine and N-nornuciferine content in lotus leaf using mechanical wounding method. Tyrosinase Inhibitors From Sapodilla Plum Manilkara Zapota L., Sutthiduean Chunhakant

Six different parts of Manilkara zapota which consisted of barks, flowers, fruits, leaves, roots and seeds were investigated for total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, antioxidant and antityrosinase activities. Methanol crude extract of flowers showed the highest total phenolic content (368.73 ± 0.65 mg GAE/g), while methanol crude extracts of seeds and roots showed high total flavonoid content (90.21 ± 0.57 and 89.03 ± 1.00 mg QE/g, respectively). Methanol crude extract of seeds showed the strongest DPPH (IC50 282.05 ± 0.60 μg/mL) and ABTS (IC50 205.11 ± 0.89 μg/mL) radical scavenging activities and showed the highest FRAP value of 296.46 …

In this present study, characteristics and catalytic properties of zirconium (Zr) and bimetal (Zr and La) containing in SBA-15 catalysts and different VOx/SBA-15 catalysts were determined and well related. The study was divided into three parts. Regarding to the first part, zirconium (Zr) and bimetal (Zr and La) containing in SBA-15 synthesized by sol-gel and hydrothermal methods were compared. Two-dimensional fluid dynamic models were used to optimize and design a proper pilot-scale system for sorption enhanced steam methane reforming (SESMR) and sorption enhanced steam reforming of ethanol (SESRE) in a circulating fluidized bed reactor (CFBR) using Ni-based catalyst and dolomite as sorbent. The CFBR system was separately designed as 3 parts: including a SESMR riser, a SESRE and a regenerator. The thermally reversible light scattering behaviors of benzoxazine-urethane copolymer was investigated in this work. Benzoxazine monomers (BA-a) were synthesized by the solventless synthesis technique from bisphenol-A, para-formaldehyde, and aniline with the molar ratio of 1:4:2, respectively. Urethane prepolymer was prepared by reacting poly(propylene glycol) (Mw = 1000, 2000, or 3000 g/mol) with toluene diisocyanate (TDI) at the molar ratio of 1:2 under a nitrogen atmosphere. Effects of La or Ce modified Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalysts on Pt dispersion and oxygen mobility of catalyst were investigated by CO oxidation reaction. 0, 0.01, 0.05, 0.10 and 0.15 molar ratio of La or Ce to Al was doped on Pt/γ-Al2O3 catalysts (0.3wt%Pt) by impregnation method. The CO oxidation activities in terms of light-off temperature (T50) and turnover frequencies (TOF) corresponded to Pt dispersion, oxygen mobility as characterized by various analytical techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2-physisorption, CO-pulse chemisorption, and temperature programed desorption of CO2 (CO2-TPD). The petal of marigold flowers has been reported to be the richest source of a xanthophyll, namely lutein which exhibits strong antioxidant and anticancer properties. Although large amount of lutein can be obtained, the compound in the flowers exists as esterified lutein, which is not readily bio-available. As a result, a number of separation and purification steps are required after solvent extraction of marigold flowers. This thesis presents the development of a weakly singular boundary integral equation method for the analysis of the generalized T-stress of isolated cracks embedded in a coupled-field whole space. This dissertation presents a theoretical study of contact problems with consideration of surface energy effects by adopting a complete Gurtin-Murdoch theory of surface elasticity. The fundamental solution of a layered elastic half-space subjected to axisymmetric surface loading is obtained by using Love's representation and the Hankel integral transform. The analytical solutions for both displacement and stress fields are expressed in terms of semi-infinite integrals, which can be accurately evaluated by employing a numerical quadrature scheme. This dissertation provides new empirical evidence for the relationship between network structure and asset returns in US, international markets, and Thailand. Previous studies find that a network of return correlations provides the meaningful economic taxonomy of the equity market. This finding makes the network structure a suitable channel through which an idiosyncratic shock propagates. This network feature can eliminate or amplify the idiosyncratic shock on the system-wide level. This study aims to investigate the needs of English oral communication for the automotive maintenance and repair profession based on perspectives of automotive mechanical students and stakeholders in the automotive industry in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area, and to propose an English oral communication course syllabus for automotive mechanical students' profession. The study is a survey research consisting of two phases: needs analysis and course syllabus development. The needs analysis process was based on the framework ESP needs analysis of Brown (2016). Objective To evaluate the effect of 4 different types of abutment material, which are titanium, zirconium oxide, gold alloy, and zirconia-coping cemented on titanium-base, on the surrounding soft tissues. Material and Methods Twenty dental implants in posterior edentulous area were randomly divided into 4 groups and inserted 4 types of abutment materials; Titanium, zirconia, gold-alloy, and titanium-base, on the implant installation surgery day. Eight weeks after implant surgery, peri-implant soft tissues around experimental abutments were harvested and split according to implant side; buccal, lingual, mesial, and distal. The Influence Of The Eu's Collective Identity On Smart Sanctions Imposed On Russia And Their Effect On Russian Financial Institutions, Sunil Kumar Dash

Beginning in early 2014, the EU introduced and extended a range of smart sanctions against Russia in protest at Russian involvement in destabilizing Ukraine and violation of Ukraine's territorial integrity. By utilizing theoretical elements of constructivism with process tracing method, this thesis examines the influence of the EU's collective identity on smart sanctions imposed on Russia. The analysis finds that the EU's "collective identity" stipulated the "objective interests" and "subjective interests" to its actors and influenced the "actions" of smart sanctions by extending extra restrictive measures for Russian financial institutions to increase the cost of smart sanctions imposed on Russia. …
