PERCIVAL GRADUATE BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES ABSTRACT Sister chromatid cohesion (SCC) is a process that utilizes a proteinaceous ring, cohesin, for accurate chromosome segregation. An essential process in S phase termed cohesion establishment is necessary to stabilize cohesin rings around sister chromatids. Mutations in establishment of cohesion homolog 2 (ESCO2), a protein essential for cohesion establishment, cause a developmental disorder called Roberts Syndrome (RBS). In the case of music, “absolute music” is sequestered from social and other roots that bring music into being in the first place. The typical claim, thus, is that classical music is music for its own sake, divorced from the many and highly evident social dimensions that it serves. Current revisions to the accreditation standards for occupational therapy (OT) education include proposed changes to experiential learning. The AOTA Fieldwork/Experiential Learning Ad Hoc Committee recommends that fieldwork Level I experiences be replaced with a new model of experiential education that includes the use of standardized patients and simulation (AOTA, 2017). Abstract

Students in grades 3 and 4 attending a traditional public elementary school in a northeastern state did not meet proficiency levels in mathematics as measured by the state's assessment system. Published reports indicated that students attending the Montessori programs were more proficient in solving math problems compared to students in traditional schools. However, researchers had not compared Montessori and traditional teachers' perceptions of teaching elementary mathematics. The purpose of this qualitative case study was to explore the perceptions of traditional and Montessori teachers regarding teaching basic problem solving skills in mathematics. This research examined Korean sport fans’ perceptions and consumption of United States-based sport. Spectators at two professional Korean Baseball Organization games completed a questionnaire exploring their understanding of sport in the United States and their media consumption habits, as well as their impression of Korean athletes participating in United States-based sport organizations. More than 75% of the respondents consumed United States-based sport, with the primary reason of following Korean players in professional leagues. However, apart from select ethnographic observations on walking as a distinct spatial practice (J. The aim of this study is to determine the amount of tear secretion in sheep with infectious keratoconjunctivitis and healthy ones in the Siirt region by Schirmer tear test and phenol red thread tear test. A total of 47 Romanov sheep, consisting of sheep with infectious keratoconjunctivitis (n = 6) and healthy sheep (n = 41), constituted the study material. Phenol red thread tear test followed by Schirmer tear test was performed on both eyes of the animals, properly taken at a control visit on their feet. Variances in the quality of education between schools in the same metropolitan areas have been noted around the world, and researchers have speculated on several causes. In order to study the specific impacts of funding gaps, lower numbers and qualifications of teachers, and lack of resources for students learning English, the cities of Johannesburg and Chicago were compared and contrasted. Both cities contained areas with very high quality schools and isolated neighborhoods where schools generally had fewer resources and lower test scores. This action research study describes the impact of Operation LAPIS, a cooperative gamebased Latin 1 curriculum, upon student perceptions in a large suburban high school in South Carolina. The game served as an introduction to Latin grammar, vocabulary, and the daily life of a Roman teenager for 15 Latin 1 students who participated in the study. Syntax, vocabulary acquisition, and cultural studies are essential standards-based elements of learning Latin. Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), or simply glioblastoma, is the most common and aggressive primary brain tumor, with a prevalence of approximately 20,000 new cases per year in the United States and a 3-year survival rate of just 2%. Quercetin (QCT) is a dietary flavonoid that can be found in common foods such as red kidney beans, cilantro, and onions. Despite little evidence showing any benefits through dietary intake of QCT, various studies show its promising anti-cancer results in vitro. In glioblastoma, QCT is able to cause significant amounts of apoptosis through a variety of mechanisms. These include activation of caspase-9 and …

Rebirth of a House Museum traces the transformation of the Woodrow Wilson Family Home (WWFH) in Columbia, South Carolina from an eighty year-old presidential shrine to the nation’s first museum of Reconstruction. A semi-guided house tour with limited objects and grounded in a specific time and place modernized an outdated historic house museum (HHM). The house became the primary artifact, supported by a panel exhibit and five original Wilson family objects. This exploratory, qualitative study looks at resilience in Mexican Nationals and Mexican Immigrants. Eight Mexican Nationals and six Mexican Immigrants participated in one to three hour semi-structured interviews that asked about their perceptions of stressors, motivation and success in life. Participant responses were analyzed thematically for resilience using Thematic Analysis (Boyatzis, 1998). Contrastive Analysis of themes indicated that resilience can differ based on cultural circumstances (i.e., Mexican National/Mexican Immigrant) given that barriers and therefore potential gains differ by population. A qualitative narrative inquiry method was used for data collection. This was an optimal approach to honoring the authentic voices of African American women. Eighteen African American women shared their stories, revelations, feelings and thoughts on reconnecting in their ancestral homeland of Africa. These complications lead to multiple organ failure, including chronic kidney disease. Sodium bicarbonate and Shohl's solution are commonly used to treat metabolic acidosis. However, these agents cause frequent gastrointestinal adverse effects. วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่อง ประติมากรรมสื่อใหม่ รูปแบบลีลาและรสนิยมในศิลปะยกล้อ มีวัตถุประสงค์สามข้อดังนี้ 1.ศึกษาแนวคิดและกระบวนการสร้างอัตลักษณ์ผ่านรสนิยมและรูปแบบที่ปรากฏบนรถมอเตอร์ไซค์ช้อปเปอร์ 2. สำรวจรูปแบบของการสร้างสรรค์ที่ปรากฏบนยานพาหนะในวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสร้างอัตลักษณ์เชิงปัจเจกและอัตลักษณ์เชิงกลุ่ม 3. สร้างสรรค์ผลงานประติมากรรมที่ผู้ชมสามารถรับรู้สุนทรียะแบบวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์ ได้ด้วยรูปแบบการตกแต่งบนมอเตอร์ไซค์ช้อปเปอร์ มานำเสนอด้วยภาษาทางประติมากรรม วิทยานิพนธ์เรื่องนี้ได้รับแรงบัลดาลใจจากความสนใจมอเตอร์ไซค์แบบช้อปเปอร์ของผู้วิจัยเอง ที่มีเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะที่ชัดเจนจนกลายเป็นรูปแบบทางวัฒนธรรมย่อย จากแรงบัลดาลใจข้างต้นทำให้ผู้วิจัยตั้งคำถามเกี่ยวกับปรากฏการณ์ดังกล่าวว่า การใช้รถมอเตอร์ไซค์เป็นเครื่องมือในการสร้างอัตลักษณ์ของผู้เป็นเจ้าของมีกลไกอย่างไร และมีกรอบทางความคิดใดอยู่เบื้องหลังบ้าง และจะสร้างกระบวนการสร้างอัตลักษณ์ผ่านผลงานศิลปะได้อย่างไรให้ผู้ชมสามารถรับรู้สุนทรียะภาพแบบวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์ ผู้วิจัยรวบรวมข้อมูลมาจากแนวคิดทฤษฎีทางสังคมศาสตร์ แนวคิดทางศิลปะที่เกี่ยวข้อง ศิลปินกรณีศึกษา ข้อมูลภาคสนาม และข้อมูลจากสื่อออนไลน์ จากการรวบรวมข้อมูลพบว่าสามารถบ่งชี้ลักษณะและแนวคิดการใช้มอเตอร์ไซค์สร้างอัตลักษณ์ให้กับผู้เป็นเจ้าของในวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์ โดยการหยิบยืมรูปแบบจากหลายแหล่งที่มา กลายเป็นวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์แบบไทยๆ ผู้วิจัยเชื่อมโยงข้อมูลที่ได้กับแนวคิดทางศิลปะมาพัฒนาเป็นกรอบแนวคิดในการสร้างสรรค์เกี่ยวกับการมีส่วนรวมของผู้ชมกับผลงาน ในรูปแบบประติมากรรมสื่อใหม่ทั้งหมดสี่ชิ้น ได้แก่ คิงคะนองนา เร็วแรงเกิ้น นักสู้ตลาดสด และทองเนื้อเก้า ผลงานประติมากรรมทั้งสี่ชิ้นใช้หลักการการหยิบยืมรูปแบบจากหลายแหล่งมาผสมกันแบบพันธุ์ทาง จนกลายเป็นรูปแบบที่สร้างอัตลักษณ์เฉพาะ และสะท้อนกลับไปยังที่มาของแหล่งรสนิยมต้นทางได้ในเวลาเดียวกัน วิทยานิพนธ์ชิ้นนี้ คือกระบวนการสร้างการรับรู้สุนทรียะแบบวัฒนธรรมช้อปเปอร์ให้กับผู้ชมผ่านการมีปฏิสัมพันธ์กับผลงานประติมากรรม และขยายฐานคิดเกี่ยวกับประสบการณ์ทางสุนทรียะผ่านการรับรู้ เปิดทางให้ขยายฐานคิดเกี่ยวกับการสร้างงานประติมากรรมร่วมสมัย ที่ไม่ได้หยุดอยู่แค่เพียงการชื่นชมสุนทรียภาพจากความงามของรูป ทรงสามมิติของประติมากรรมเท่านั้น โดยผู้วิจัยเรียกกระบวนการนี้ว่า ประติมากรรมปฏิสัมพันธ์
