The sustainability and spread of innovations is often elusive, presenting continuous challenges to clinicians and healthcare leaders. Somewhere between 33 - 70% of all innovations are reportedly not sustained, and even fewer are spread beyond the original team, or to other units within an organization. In plain language, sustainability is defined as locking in progress, while continually building upon that foundation, while spread is the exchange of knowledge and experience to others beyond the original implementing team. Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is characterized by the abnormal proteolytic processing of amyloid precursor protein, resulting in increased production of a self-aggregating form of beta amyloid (Aβ). Several lines of work on AD patients and transgenic mice with high Aβ levels exhibit altered rhythmicity, aberrant neuronal network activity and hyperexcitability reflected in clusters of hyperactive neurons, and spontaneous epileptic activity. Recent studies highlight that abnormal accumulation of Aβ changes intrinsic properties of inhibitory neurons, which is one of the main reasons underlying the impaired network activity. Tourists increasingly rely on online data sources about the characteristics of the tourist offer in a given place and, more importantly, about the quality or characteristics of certain providers when making their decisions. The aim of the article is to investigate the characteristics of Ljubljana's tourist offer, especially the individual types (hotels, gastronomy, cultural offers, etc.), using content and sentiment analysis of text reviews from the largest online tourist portal. The article presents the age distribution of production, consumption and net transfers of unpaid (household) service work for three European countries - Italy, the Netherlands and the UK. This type of analysis is made possible by the relatively new method of 'national time transfer accounts', which introduces the dimension of age into unpaid work. We find that patterns of unpaid work are significantly influenced by the institutional and cultural environment and that there are also large gender differences. The article examines the moderating effect of psychological empowerment on the relationship of authentic and transformational leadership with innovative work behaviour. Hypotheses are developed and empirically tested using multiple regression analysis on a sample of 126 employees of an international technology company. The results show that psychological empowerment acts as a moderator of the relationship between leadership and innovative work behaviour in both authentic and transformational leadership. The article examines the applicability of the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to the Slovenian capital market. The focus is on the choice of possible (reasonable) values of the input parameters that the investor would use in the Slovenian capital market. We find that: i) the variability of estimated betas for Slovenian stocks is very high; ii) the variability of estimates of required rate of return is extremely high, regardless of the type of input data that can be reasonably chosen; iii) there is no statistically significant relationship between expected rates of return calculated by the CAPM model and actual …

Exploring the causes of patient dissatisfaction can inform healthcare providers about the drawbacks of their services while providing a meaningful outcome to improve quality. In this article, using the qualitative method of netography, we identify the main causes of Slovenian patients' dissatisfaction with the non-medical components of healthcare services and, based on the results, identify those non-medical areas of healthcare services that can be improved in the future in terms of the quality of healthcare services from the perspective of patient satisfaction. This study examines the influence of economic and financial literacy on the delinquency and default rate of clients of rural Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOSs) in Tanzania. The data were collected from a random sample of 200 individual loan beneficiaries drawn from eight SACCOSs, and analysed using regression models. The findings established that the level of economic and financial literacy of rural borrowers is very low. The study also found a negative relationship between economic literacy and financial literacy, on the one hand, and default and delinquency, on the other. This paper examines how the identity of corporate owners affects corporate leverage in the UK. Using data from a sample of 643 listed UK firms, the results show that family-controlled firms have higher debt ratios than companies controlled by financial institutions. The implication is that family-controlled companies prefer debt to equity in their capital structure due to either a control-enhancing mechanism and/or firm ' s protection from take-over threats. The paper, further confirms that corporate control contestability has also a positive impact on debt ratio. the Norwegian North Sea with synthetic brines reacted at approximately 150˚C and 450

bars, temperature and pressure calculated to simulate a depth of burial of approximately 4 km. The results of the experiments were analyzed with geochemical modeling and with

chemical and petrographic analyses. Geochemical modeling with several computer

programs indicated that the experimental fluid was undersaturated with respect to K-feldspar, kaolinite, and illite, but supersaturated with respect to muscovite. Chemical

Malnutrition is associated with negative health consequences in the vulnerable cancer population, making it imperative for an efficient interdisciplinary approach to conduct nutritional screening using an appropriate scale. For the present study, a comparison between an existing malnutrition risk-screening questionnaire (EMR-SQ) and a comprehensive screening questionnaire (CMR-SQ) was performed on 37 cancer patients. The first stage of data collection required the nurses to electronically complete the EMR-SQ. © 2016 by The American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Inc. Adipose tissue expansion occurs by increasing the size of existing adipocytes or by increasing the number of adipocytes via adipogenesis. Adipose tissue dysfunction in obesity is associated with adipocyte hypertrophy and impaired adipogenesis. We recently demonstrated that deletion of the ubiquitin ligase Siah2 is associated with enlarged adipocytes in lean or obese mice. In this study, we find that adipogenesis is impaired in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes stably transfected with Siah2 shRNA and that overexpression of Siah2 in non-precursor fibroblasts promotes adipogenesis. The aim of this study was to learn about rates of witnessing violence among high school students in Thailand, with special emphasis on the country’s Southern Muslim provinces where ongoing terror reflects their struggle for independence. Seventh to 10th grade students were randomly sampled from three areas of Thailand, representing inner cities, rural areas, and the Muslim-dominated South. The sample consisted of 1,305 youths: 763 (58.5%) females. Rates of witnessing violence are high among Thai youths, and are similar to those reported in the USA. On September 14, 2015 the Advanced LIGO detectors observed their first gravitational wave (GW) transient GW150914. This was followed by a second GW event observed on December 26, 2015. Both events were inferred to have arisen from the merger of black holes in binary systems. Such a system may emit neutrinos if there are magnetic fields and disk debris remaining from the formation of the two black holes. With the surface detector array of the Pierre Auger Observatory we can search for neutrinos with energy Eν above 100 PeV from pointlike sources across the sky with equatorial declination from about …
