Lithium Plating Identification From Degradation Behaviors Of Lithium-Ion Cells, Jian-Bo Zhang, Lai-Suo Su, Xin-Yu Li, Hao Ge, Ya-Kun Zhang, Zhe Li

Lithium plating has huge impact on the lifetime and safety of lithium-ion cells. It is, therefore, necessary to identify lithium plating. In this study, the accelerated stress tests of lithium-ion cells were conducted under different conditions with multi-stress loads. Based on the different effects of the two major aging mechanisms, namely, SEI (Solid Electrolyte Interface) layer growth and lithium plating, on the degradation behaviors, two lithium plating identification methods of resistance-capacity plot and Arrhenius plot were employed. The experimental results revealed that the two identification methods are highly consistent with each other. Furthermore, the origins of capacity loss were distinguished …

We report results of an all-sky search for periodic gravitational waves with frequency between 50 and 510 Hz from isolated compact objects, e.g., neutron stars. A new hierarchical multistage approach is taken, supported by the computing power of the Einstein@Home project, allowing us to probe more deeply than ever before. 16 million subthreshold candidates from the initial search [LIGO Scientific and Virgo Collaborations, Phys. Rev. D 94, 102002 (2016)] are followed up in four stages. None of those candidates is consistent with an isolated gravitational wave emitter, and 90% confidence level upper limits are placed on the amplitudes of continuous …

Threats to information assets have always been a concern to those responsible for making information useful and defending its value. The concepts of threat, threat agent, threat events and threat sources have evolved in recent years have very precise definitions. A summary of threat classification models used in academic research is provided along with a summary of recent industry threat assessment reports. Finally, the results from a recent study, 2015 SEC/CISE Threats to Information Protection Report Including a Current Snapshot of the State of the Industry, are given.

The GenCyber program is jointly sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to help faculty and cybersecurity experts provide summer cybersecurity camp experiences for K-12 students and teachers. The main objective of the program is to attract, educate, and motivate a new generation of young men and women to help address the nationwide shortage of trained cybersecurity professionals. The curriculum is flexible and centers on ten cybersecurity first principles. ABSTRACT: BACKGROUND: Hydatid Cyst of the Orbit is a rare manifestation even in endemic areas. It presents as a silent proptosis with or without visual function impairment. Many surgical procedures have been implemented for cyst removal including transcranial, lateral orbitotomy, tansmaxillary sinus, rhinotomy, and anterior orbitotomy. Post-operative complications endangering visual function and locally were reported with some of these approaches. In order to improve the quality and add the value of silver carp surimi, the effect of different process conditions such as egg white powder, rinsing, heating, and frozen storage on gel properties of egg white silver carp surimi was investigated by using the texture profile analysis. The results showed that egg white powder had significant effect on gel strength with 7.0%. The rheology of oil-in-water (O/W) droplet interfaces stabilized by food-grade emulsifiers (soy lecithin or Tween 20) under controlled aqueous conditions was investigated to elucidate its contribution in the kinetic stabilization of nanoemulsion-based delivery systems containing carvacrol, a naturally-derived antimicrobial compound. Dilational rheology of surfactant-laden O/W interfaces was measured using axisymmetric drop shape analysis. The kinetic stability of corresponding nanoemulsions (containing mixtures of carvacrol and medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil dispersed in water (pH 7)) was characterized using dynamic light scattering. Zwitterionic lecithin molecules adsorbed to the O/W interface for 24 h formed a notably viscoelastic layer, compared to nonionic Tween 20 …

Several physicochemical properties of potato powder were studied, including the material moisture, extrusion temperature and screw speed's influence. The results indicated that with the increase of material moisture, the water-solubility, iodine blue value of potato powder decreasing, water-absorption, oil-absorption increasing, expansibility increased firstly and then decreased, which was the largest in moisture of 35%, while the gelatinization temperature decreased firstly then increased, and the peak, valley, final viscosity, gelatin increasing gradually. Thermal stability was the strongest in the moisture of 30%. With the increasing of extrusion temperature, the water-solubility, iodine blue value increased gradually, water-absorption, oil-absorption decreasing, and the expansibility …

Compared the sterilization effect and the volatile components loss of rose water after two different sterilization treatments, namely the ultra-high temperature (135 ℃, 5 s) sterilization and the high pressure processing (400 MPa, 15 min) sterilization. The storage stability of rose water in storage, which was sterilized by high pressure processing, was also studied. The result showed that high pressure processing sterilization had advantages over ultra-high temperature sterilization in the processing and production of rose water product.
