Introduction
Children consume much of their daily energy intake at school. School district policies, state laws, and national policies, such as revisions to the US Department of Agriculture’s school meals standards, may affect the types of foods and beverages offered in school lunches over time.
Methods
This study evaluated changes and disparities in school lunch characteristics from 2006–2007 to 2013–2014. Data were obtained from annual cross-sectional surveys at 4,630 public elementary schools participating in the National School Lunch Program. Multivariate logistic regressions were conducted to examine lunch characteristics.
Results
The percentage of schools regularly offering healthful items such as vegetables …

Sponge Distribution And The Presence Of Photosymbionts In Moorea, French Polynesia, Christopher J. Freeman, Cole Easson
Sponge Distribution And The Presence Of Photosymbionts In Moorea, French Polynesia, Christopher J. Freeman, Cole Easson
Marine & Environmental Sciences Faculty Articles
Photosymbionts play an important role in the ecology and evolution of diverse host species within the marine environment. Although sponge-photosymbiont interactions have been well described from geographically disparate sites worldwide, our understanding of these interactions from shallow water systems within French Polynesia is limited. We surveyed diverse habitats around the north coast of Moorea, French Polynesia and screened sponges for the presence of photosymbionts. Overall sponge abundance and diversity were low, with <1% cover and only eight putative species identified by 28S barcoding from surveys at 21 sites. Of these eight species, seven were found predominately in shaded or semi-cryptic habitats under overhangs or within caverns. Lendenfeldia chondrodeswas the only species that supported a high abundance of photosymbionts and was also the only species found in exposed, illuminated habitats. Interestingly, L. chondrodes was …1%>

International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
Session presented on Sunday, July 26, 2015: Purpose: Although advances have been made the U.S. healthcare system continues to rely heavily on the silo model of education and practice. Students learn about their profession and practitioners provide care at their level of training, but often for only one disease and without the knowledge or understanding of the complementary roles of other healthcare professions in patient care. Therefore, patients with multiple chronic conditions receive fragmented care affecting cost, safety, effectiveness, quality of life, and mortality. Practitioners must be trained to collaborate in interprofessional (IP) teams. This cannot happen without each person …

Reducing Telemetry Alarm Fatigue, Ekta Srinivasa
International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
Session presented on Saturday, July 25, 2015: Abstract: In the recent years, the importance of reducing alarm fatigue in a clinical environment has taken precedence nationally. Alarm management is one of the Joint Commission's National Patient Safety Goals (2014) because sentinel events have directly been linked to the devices that are generating these alarms. At an acute care facility in Boston, a multi-disciplinary team was formed to conduct a pilot study on the state of telemetry alarms on a surgical floor. The goal of this pilot project was to facilitate an environment of care where nurses are tuned to cardiac …

The purpose of this qualitative study was to explore the attitudes and experiences of NPs working with LGB patients in NYC.

International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
Purpose: In adolescence, disruptive behavior, which includes defiance towards adults, bullying and fighting, can occur for a multitude of reasons and is associated with unhealthy behaviors (e.g., substance use) and poor academic performance. The purpose of this secondary data analysis was to examine the correlates among these variables in Hispanic teenagers from the southwesteRNnited States.

International Nursing Research Congress (INRC)
Session presented on Monday, July 27, 2015:
Purpose: Health professionals constitute an essential element to ensuring fulfillment of the right to health, however, human rights education without context and application has limited potential to create an environment in which the patient's human rights can be respected, promoted and protected.
