Sustainability: What The Entrepreneurship Educators Think, L Wyness, P Jones, R Klapper
Plymouth Institute of Education
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to consider the understanding and presence of sustainability within entrepreneurship education. The extant literature on sustainability within the entrepreneurship discipline remains extremely limited. Previously, sustainability within an entrepreneurship context has related to economic viability as opposed to sustainability in its broadest sense. This study explores, through a survey of entrepreneurship educators, three key research questions, namely, how entrepreneurship educators believe that entrepreneurs can contribute to solving sustainability problems. Second, to what extent education about sustainability is integrated within existing entrepreneurship curricula. Finally, what considerations are being made to include sustainability within future programmes. …

On Sport and Society
For the past several weeks I have seen a multitude of stories from the wild world of sport that have struck me as something about which I wanted to write and set my brain whirring. Unfortunately for a number of reasons I have not been able to find the time to expound on any of them.

Athletic Training Student Publications
Non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries often occur during lateral cutting maneuvers where extension, adduction, and external rotation create high loads on the ACL. The aim of this study was to examine knee moments and foot strike patterns during lateral cutting while shod (SD) and barefoot (BF). Fifteen NCAA Division III athletes (7 female and 8 male; age 20.2 ± 1.5 yr; mass 71.5 ± 11.3 kg; height, 1.7 ± .06 m) without lower limb pathologies were analyzed during 5 trials of 45 degree lateral cutting maneuvers for each limb in both BF and SD conditions with the approach speed …
Financial Management And Gender Equality In Interscholastic Athletics, Steve Chen
Financial Management And Gender Equality In Interscholastic Athletics, Steve Chen
Faculty Research at Morehead State University
Interscholastic athletic programs must avoid gender-based budgetary inequity lawsuits to ensure their successful operation. Potential problem areas are the methods used to generate athletic funds, female sports funding and the maintenance of Title IX compliance. Eighty-two interscholastic athletic directors from eastern Kentucky region shared their perceptions concerning these potential problem areas. They completed an online survey based on past literature [1, 2, 3] addressing themes concerning effective strategies for generating athletic funds and maintaining equitable athletic budgets for both gender sports. The results indicated that participants adopted both direct sales (food, apparels, and tangible product items) and indirect sales (advertising …
