Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) keefektifan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) ditinjau dari prestasi belajar dan kepercayaan diri siswa SMP dan (2) perbandingan keefektifan antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan STAD ditinjau dari prestasi belajar siswa dan kepercayaan diri siswa SMP. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keefektifan pembelajaran trigonometri dengan menggunakan pendekatan problem posing dan pendekatan open-ended ditinjau dari HOTS siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu. Penelitian ini menggunakan satu kelompok eksperimen dan satu kelompok kontrol. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran materi geometri ruang SMP dengan memanfaatkan alat peraga manipulatif dan lingkungan yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan Four-D yang dimodifikasi menjadi tiga tahap: pendefinisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan. This research seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of the English teaching program in senior high school: Case of SMAN3 Yogyakarta, grade eleven. This study was a summative case study using a mixed-method. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze quantitative data and qualitative data followed a descriptive analysis following the CIPP model. The informants were 43 students of SMAN3 and two English teachers. The context findings showed that program objectives, classroom condition, students' needs and barriers were in effective category. Shale development, which uses the controversial energy extraction technique of hydraulic fracturing, is on the rise in America, with industries recently investigating the New Albany shale play in southern Illinois and western Kentucky. We ask: what do community leaders in this region think about shale development generally, and how do they come to their decisions? To answer these questions, we interviewed eighteen community leaders, twelve of whom were proponents of shale development. This report summarizes the results of research conducted to determine if current and near future EV sales will have an impact on gasoline (gas) tax revenues as part of the Federal Highway Trust Fund (HTF). Gasoline taxes account for $31.1 billion or about 87% of the HTF. The project results were accomplished through a review of existing industry and government reports that detail fuel tax revenues and through analysis of EV sales from 2010 to 2015.

With scientific consensus regarding the occurrence of climate variability and climate change it is clear that farmers can benefit from science-based adaptation strategies for managing climate-related risk. To this end, cooperative extension professionals must engage in climate training events that are carefully planned and tailored to their specific needs. This study consisted of 50 interviews with extension professionals from four states (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina) and collected information about the perceptions of climate variability and change as well as the preferred approaches for climate-related training in extension. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi program pembelajaran IPA SMP di Kabupaten Bone Bolango berdasarkan Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Republik Indonesia Nomor 65 Tahun 2013 tentang Standar Proses Pendidikan Dasar dan Menengah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian evaluasi dengan model Countenace Stake. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan model pendidikan karakter bagi anak sejak dini melalui program terpadu "Sekolah Ibu" PAUD nonformal di pedesaan. Metode penelitian menggunakan penelitian dan pengembangan dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Pajangan Kabupaten Bantul terhadap 11 KB dan 11 SPS dengan responden orang tua sebanyak 60 orang. This article critically analyses the recent US Supreme Court decision in Obergefell v Hodges, the samesex marriage case. The court in Obergefell put a stop to the democratic process by removing an important issue from the realm of democratic deliberation. These unelected judges held that their nation’s federal constitution should ‘evolve’ in a way that is supported by neither the document’s language, nor its history or authority. John Rawls’ idea of public reason holds that comprehensive doctrines including religion should not be allowed a voice in the public square. Such ideas prevent society achieving that ‘overlapping consensus’ which is said to be a requirement for enduring peace and progress. However, the suggestion that some ideas should be excluded from public debate is anti-democratic. This article reviews Rawls’ idea of public reason’ against its US legal context and suggests it was a response to US Supreme Court decisions concerning their First Amendment. Extraterritorial Application And Customary Norm Assessment Of Non-Refoulement: The Legality Of Australia's 'Turn-Back' Policy, James Mansfield

The University of Notre Dame Australia Law Review

This article considers whether the Commonwealth Government’s border protection policy of turning back asylum seeker boats breaches its international obligation not to refoule refugees, as imposed under the Refugee Convention art 33(1). In addressing this issue the article examines whether art 33(1) applies extraterritorially, and whether a similar obligation has become embedded in customary international law. The conclusions reached are applied to specific situations where Australia has returned refugees.
