Kevin and Muriel Thornton’s first establishment was the Wine Epergne located in Upper Rathmines from 1989 – 1992. Thornton’s opened in Portobello, Dublin in 1995 and moved to its present location on St. Stephen’s Green in 2002.

Timely access, prompt responses to patient needs, and availability of resources to deliver quality service are the key priorities of healthcare systems, in particular hospitals. To cope with these constraints, healthcare managers have turned into lean thinking and approaches in their attempts to reduce non-value added activities and save costs by reducing wastes. This paper presents a case study of a private hospital in Dublin that used integrated approach of value stream mapping and simulation modeling to assess lean implementation in admission and discharge processes. Until relatively recently, the subject of social relationships, constituted in and through audience practices, has been a minor part of audience research studies. This chapter explores how social relationships and forms of audience agency change and / or evolve, through the usage of both traditional and ‘new’ media. Conservatives have generally been critical of the smart growth movement, because they often fear that smart growth is synonymous with overregulation of land use. In his Century Cycle of plays, August Wilson tells ten distinct stories of families in or linked to the Hill District, an African American community in Pittsburgh; one play taking place in each decade of the twentieth century. Through these plays, Wilson's audience sees the Hill District and America evolve, while prejudice, oppression, and poverty remain constant. Many scholars argue that sexism provides a fourth common factor, asserting that Wilson portrays the female characters in the male-fantasized, stereotypical roles of the Mammy or the Jezebel figure, rather as realistic, empowered, and complex women. Communication is useful and often necessary for rivals to coordinate price and output decisions. All would agree that evidence of communication on these issues is relevant to the issue of whether firms reached an illegal agreement or engaged in concerted action in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act. Most courts and commentators would go further and define agreement and concerted action to require communication of one kind or another. I call this view the objective theory of concerted action. On March 17, 2011 the conductor Riccardo Muti stood in the orchestra pit at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and, in the presence of the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano, denounced the Italian government’s cuts to funding for the arts and culture. He then invited the entire audience to join the opera’s chorus in an encore of Va’ Pensiero, the hymn of the Hebrew slaves in Nabucco, to protest the cuts. Digital collections projects began at Eastern Illinois University in the mid 1990s. These early projects had specialized interfaces and different storage strategies. With the inception of an institutional repository (IR) in 2011, these collections were brought under a common interface and storage practices. The benefits and challenges of utilizing an IR for the dissemination of legacy digital projects is discussed, along with data storage solutions appropriate for a mid-sized academic library.

It is a detailed account of author Adam Karal Sahli's artistic process in directing the musical I Love You Because at Minnesota State University, Mankato in the Fall of 2012. The thesis records the artist's process from production selection through performance in five chapters: a preproduction analysis, a historical and critical analysis of the work, a production meeting and performance journals, a post-production analysis and a process development analysis. This thesis explores how the role of the dancer has shifted in contemporary movement systems, specifically Ohad Naharin's "movement language" Gaga. I apply Maurice Merleau-Ponty's phenomenal notions of embodiment, subjectivity, and intersubjectivity in order to describe how Gaga training suggests a re-imagination of the dancer/choreographer and dancer/performer relationship through investigative profiles. Because Gaga is so new (it was created only twenty years ago) it has yet to be explored through an analytic or critical lens. An operating room (OR) is considered to be one of the most costly functional areas within hospitals as well as its major profit center. It is known that managing an OR department is a challenging task, which requires the integration of many actors (e.g., patients, surgeons, nurses, technicians) who may have conflicting interests and priorities.

Considering these aspects, this dissertation focuses on developing a simulation based methodology for scheduling operating rooms under uncertainty, which reflects the complexity, uncertainty and variability associated with surgery.

This dissertation undertakes an analysis of 1,044 performance evaluations from New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) Spring Festival solo adjudication ratings of student performers from a large suburban school district. It relies on results of evaluations of observed performances, and takes these evaluations as assessments of what the student performers know and are able to do in this field. The analyses undertaken in this study seek to uncover patterns in performance ratings by identified conditions of performance (time of day of performance, level of music performed, and performance medium) and characteristics of performers (gender, race/ethnicity, and grade level). The series of bombings testifies to France’s lack of immunity in the postcolonial struggle over the future of its former colonies. Stuck, a one-act play, takes place in a Metro North train that stalls somewhere in upstate New York. The only passengers in the car are Alice, the main character; Max, an old college classmate; and Owen, whose misogynistic and indifferent attitude toward women provoke Alice and Max, who are encountering each other for the first time since Alice's traumatic graduation speech. While the three are trapped in the stalled car, Alice's feelings of being stuck in issues of feminist theory, intellectuality, and aging are magnified.
