Creating A Sustainable Inter-City Asean Football League, Regional Television Programming Network, (Content/Ip Industry) Sports Tourism And Travel Industry And Developing Principles For A Legal Framework To Achieve Economic And Socio-Cultural Integration, Lim Peng Han

Indonesian Journal of International Law

China is poised to be the second largest economy in the world and investment will continue flowing into its growing affluent and gigantic domestic market. It is not surprising that the total inflow of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into ASEAN from the years 2007 to 2009 significantly shrunk from US$74.3 billion to US$39.6 billion. A Third Sector Imaginary, Roger A. Lohmann Oct 2012

A Third Sector Imaginary, Roger A. Lohmann

Faculty & Staff Scholarship

A basic theoretical challenge for third sector scholars today is to speak in general and consistent terms about the institutional and normative orders forming outside households, markets and governments in numerous countries, regions and urban centers everywhere. The third sectors of the world have formed in light of a range of distinctive local conditions, including history, culture, law and other factors. A growing international group of scholars has produced a convincing, although limited and partial model of the third sector based in the linked concepts of nonprofit organization, nonprofit sector and non-distribution constraints. We will need to pay greater heed …

The Glass Ceiling: Examining The Advancement Of Women In The Domain Of Athletic Administration, Brittany J. Galloway Oct 2012

The Glass Ceiling: Examining The Advancement Of Women In The Domain Of Athletic Administration, Brittany J. Galloway

McNair Scholars Research Journal

The “glass ceiling” is a metaphor for examining gender disparities between men and women within the workplace. Such disparities are particularly visible in athletic administration. This literature review evaluates specific leadership characteristics and their relationship to gender stereotyping in Sport Management. Because athletic administration is a male dominated domain, there appears to be discrimination against women, creating a gender gap that prevents the advancement of women into top-level managerial positions.

School As Community Center: Redefining The Relationship Between The Community And The School In Minsk, Belarus, Kate Talkachova Oct 2012

School As Community Center: Redefining The Relationship Between The Community And The School In Minsk, Belarus, Kate Talkachova

Architecture Thesis Prep

"A society that values education should place emphasis on the facilities and incorporate in them the values and progress, not blindly stick to the traditional. For a country fighting to regain its identity, it is important that the divisions between the neighborhoods are blurred and a sense of a whole is created. With the school as community center, education remains the central focus, as well as provides the necessary link to the surrounding neighborhoods, becoming more than just a physical center, but an activity center as well."
