A Public Dialogue On Child Sexual Abuse: Hope For Healing And Prevention, Hanna Louise Foster
Educational Specialist, 2009-2019
This paper describes the problem of child sexual abuse (CSA), including the prevalence, associated outcomes for survivors, and the importance of prevention in addition to treatment. The author reviews the current literature on three types of child sexual abuse prevention programs: criminal justice initiatives, educational programs for children, and community-based programs. The author examines a public dialogue approach that aims to engage adults in the prevention of child sexual abuse. Program Evaluation Of Preceptor Preparation And Effectiveness In A Local Nurse Residency Program, Margaret Covelli
Program Evaluation Of Preceptor Preparation And Effectiveness In A Local Nurse Residency Program, Margaret Covelli
UNLV Theses, Dissertations, Professional Papers, and Capstones
Preceptors are vital to the success of new graduate registered nurses in their transition to practice as they assist the new nurse in developing skills, competency, and confidence. Most residency programs may include training for preceptors but there may not be evidence that preceptor preparation makes a difference in the retention of nurse residents or the relationship to favorable evaluations of preceptors from the residents. This study evaluated and compared the effects of preceptor training on competency levels of the resident and therefore retention.
The methodology was a post hoc descriptive study of variables that included demographics, surveys from residents …
Improving Nursing Home Patient Safety In Maine: A Review Of The Ahrq Patient Safety Culture Survey Implementation Process, Andrea Fenner-Koepp
Improving Nursing Home Patient Safety In Maine: A Review Of The Ahrq Patient Safety Culture Survey Implementation Process, Andrea Fenner-Koepp
Muskie School Capstones and Dissertations
An organization’s patient safety culture has a powerful influence on the behaviors, strategies, and clinical outcomes of healthcare organizations. The Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) Patient Safety Culture Survey has been deemed an effective tool for assessing patient safety culture and driving improvement initiatives. There has been little done to assess the quality of patient safety culture in long-term care facilities and, specifically, Maine has not collectively established baseline measures of patient safety culture in nursing home. This capstone reviews the implementation process of the AHRQ Patient Safety Culture Survey in five rural nursing facility pilot sites.

The Christian Librarian
Academic libraries have been changing the traditional instructional framework of library instruction teaching modules to information literacy teaching modules. National standards for information literacy increased the possibility to unify such efforts throughout the country and clarify for librarians, administrators, and faculty the desired student learning outcomes. This paper presents findings of a quantitative research study developed to provide documentation for a regional accrediting body, college administration, and faculty on the efficacy of a subject specific information literacy curriculum and assessment instrument. The study took place within a seminary and began with an initial needs assessment. A previously developed instrument, B-TILED, …
Ministry Of Memories: Keys To Pastoral Care Of Non-Cognitive Persons, Reginald Corfield
Ministry Of Memories: Keys To Pastoral Care Of Non-Cognitive Persons, Reginald Corfield
Doctoral Dissertations and Projects
This work is intended to examine and study the theological and moral reasons to provide pastoral care to persons who have limited or no cognition. Dementia, Alzheimer's, certain other medical conditions and the aging process cause a loss of brain function that affects memory, thinking, behavior and judgment. Most Clergy wrestle with the fact as to whether there is any purpose in ministering to such persons especially when there is no verbal or non-verbal response. This paper involves surveys, research, collection of historical and biblical data and medical science to evaluate the disease process and explore ways in which to …
