Videogames are one of the most significant developments in the mass arts of recent times. In commercial terms, they are now among the most prominent of the mass arts worldwide. This commercial and cultural success does not exhaust the interest in videogames as a mass art phenomenon because games such as Grand Theft Auto IV and Fallout 3 are structurally radically different from previous forms of mass art. Actinobacteria are well known for their production of an extensive array of chemically diverse and medically important secondary metabolites. Fifty two strains of actinobacteria used in this study were divided into 20 colour groups based on their aerial and substrate mycelium colour as well as diffusible pigment production on Yeast Extract Malt Extract (ISP) medium. Antifungal activity was determined against Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Fusarium oxysporum, Ganoderma boninense, Schizosaccharomyces pombe and Saccharomyces cerevisiae by the agar plug-diffusion method. Ten of the fifty two actinobacterial strains showed strong antifungal activity. Two strains (MA04119 and RHRS) were active against S. pombe, four …

In this study a comprehensive evaluation of two efficient sample treatment methods based on LLE/freezing-out coupled with matrix solid-phase dispersion-sonication (UA-MSPD) and precipitation at low temperature followed by dispersive solid-phase extraction (d-SPE) has been performed for determination of dimethoate, malathion, carbaryl, simazine, terbuthylazine, atrazine and diuron in both olive and palm oil using liquid chromatography time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-QTOF-MS) and electrospray as the ionization source. Identification and confirmation of the compounds were based on retention time matching along with the accurate mass measurements of the protonated molecules ([M+H]+) and their main fragment ions. In this article, the authors argue that in the wake of a major disaster, it is not only appropriate but also beneficial for governments to spend public funds to support official gratitude campaigns in response to outside assistance. These assertions are based on results of multiple studies on gratitude from both psychology and marketing that show that expressions of gratitude can offer both economic and social marketing benefits. Evidence demonstrates increased consumer willingness to purchase products produced in the devastated area and intentions to continue prosocial support through volunteerism and financial donations after receiving expressions of gratitude. This article presents a controversial hypothetical approach to a side of the polemic regarding extraordinary rendition. War is not always controlled by rules, fairness, or ethics. The United States would prefer the foregoing if forced to go to war, but the enemy may not follow the same approach. As a result, the United States becomes hampered by unilaterally self-imposed rules and standards. The following thesis investigates the sources of Native American disappointment with white morality from the mid-eighteenth century into the early nineteenth century. Countless studies have focused on violence and resistance in the American backcountry throughout the late colonial period as well as the native revitalization movements that often fueled that resistance.

This study focuses on a group of people who were constantly in contact with examples of white morality. After witnessing the examples of white missionaries, Native Americans were repeatedly perplexed by white settlers who did not adhere to the principles of their religion. Biofouling, the accumulation and proliferation of microorganisms, plants, and fouling animals on surfaces in an aqueous environment, poses a significant challenge. For example, the effects of fouling of ship hauls include hydrodynamic drag, increase in fuel consumption by ships whose hulls have been fouled, and increase in frequency of dry-dock cleaning.

In the history of marine navigation, varieties of anti-biofouling control measures have been suggested but tributyltin self-polishing copolymer (TBT-SPC) paints have been the most effective and commercially viable option in curbing biofouling. This article sets forth an argument as to why the empowerment of stakeholder investors presents the only currently viable means for stakeholders to influence the behavior of the American public corporation. The article explores the history of corporations in America, Germany, and the United Kingdom and analyzes the disparate theories of corporate governance between the countries. Offshore financial centres ("OFCs") are often labelled "tax havens" due to a misconception that they only serve to avoid tax liability. This comment focuses on the many other practical reasons for using OFCs in international business. Reducing tax liability is just one of many reasons why structures utilise products from OFCs. The authors argue that OFCs are not simply "tax havens," but are a positive, unstoppable force in their own right.

This research proposes a novel on-demand routing protocol, Speed-Aware Routing Protocol (SARP) to mitigate the effects of high node mobility by reducing the frequency of route disconnections in a MANET. "This thesis addresses optimal control of a helicopter unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Helicopter UAVs may be widely used for both military and civilian operations. Because these helicopters are underactuated nonlinear mechanical systems, high-performance controller design for them presents a challenge. This thesis presents an optimal controller design via both state and output feedback for trajectory tracking of a helicopter UAV using a neural network (NN). The state and output-feedback control system utilizes the backstepping methodology, employing kinematic and dynamic controllers while the output feedback approach uses an observer in addition to these controllers. This paper addresses two questions about the morality of warfare: (1) how much risk must soldiers take to minimize unintended civilian casualties caused by their own actions (“collateral damage”), and (2) whether it is the same for the enemy's civilians as for one's own.

The questions take on special importance in warfare where one side is able to attack the other side from a safe distance, but at the cost of civilian lives, while safeguarding civilians may require soldiers to take precautions that expose them to greater risk. President Barack Obama and US political and policy leaders across the political spectrum have in recent years spoken about the need to eliminate nuclear weapons because of the dangers they pose. In 1970, the United States agreed by Article VI of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty ("NPT") to negotiate nuclear disarmament in good faith.
