The Fall 2011 issue of the Wooster magazine features 10 Alumni who work in the State of Ohio. These alumni include: Pat Kindig ‘00, Laura Neill ‘89, Bobby Vega ‘05, Lorraine Merrill ‘54, Bill Spratley ‘70, Ted Celeste ‘67, Andrew Bishop ‘05, Steve Schmid ‘74, Leila Atassi ‘02, and Barbara Ludwig ‘82. The class of 2015 is welcomed to campus on page four. Recent books published by alumni are on page nine. The magazine follows the 100 year old footprint of Wooster alumnus Guo Bingwen, who shaped Chinese higher education.

Chapter 14 of the 2011 BYU Sperry Symposium volume, "'Delivered by the Power of God:' Nephi's Vision of America's Birth" by Dr. Kenneth L. Alford discusses evidence of God's hand andintervention in the American Revolutionary War. This essay specifically looks at 1 Nephi 13, Washington and the founding fathers, wartime weather, and the West Point chain.

Archaeologists as Activists: Can Archaeologists Change the World? is comprised of papers edited by M. Jay Stottman—many of which were initially prepared for a session at the 2004 annual meeting of the Society for Historical Archaeology in St. Louis. The focus of this volume is “activist archaeology” as theorized and performed by archaeologists working in the last few decades in the United States. A Six-Column Babylonian Tablet Of Ludlul Bēl Nēmeqi And The Reconstruction Of Tablet Iv, Alan Lenzi, Amar Annus

College of the Pacific Faculty Articles

The article presents a discussion of the reconstruction of Tablet IV of the six-column Babylonian tablet of Ludlul B̄el N̄emeqi, owned by the British Museum and being rebuilt in 2011. Comments are given describing the provenance of the artifacts as well as their significance in containing a complete text of an ancient Babylonian wisdom poem. Several diagrams are presented mapping the fragments along with transcriptions of the inscriptions found on the tablet. Extensive footnotes are included outlining the grammar and translation of the texts.

O'Callahan Society Annual Dinner Program

Eleventh in a series of speaker events sponsored by the O'Callahan Society at its annual dinner. This year's program honors Rev. John E. Brooks, S.J.and Captain Harry R. Moore, USN, who through their vision and reasoned approach, resisted pressure in the early 1970s to end Navy and Air Force ROTC programs at Holy Cross. This evening's program also celebrates the Holy Cross NROTC Unit's 70 years of unbroken service to the nation and Naval Department.
