Prohibits candidates for office, government officials, and government advisors from giving themselves exemptions from legislation they pass or policy decisions they make, and from giving themselves special benefits by legislation or policy decision. Applies retroactively to all legislation not enacted by majority popular vote. Creates new state agency to monitor proposed laws and policies for compliance and to enforce penalties, including imprisonment, fines, forfeiture, and ineligibility for public office. Requires candidates for office, government officials, and government advisors to use personal funds to pay any damages and their own legal expenses arising from claims of unscrupulous behavior. Defines unscrupulous behavior to include negligence, ethics violations, direction to subordinates that is contrary to or expands beyond existing law, breach of contract, and unfulfilled campaign promises. Imposes penalties for unscrupulous behavior, or for improper use of public funds to defend against claims of unscrupulous behavior, including imprisonment, fines, forfeiture, punitive damages, nullification of unscrupulous acts, and ineligibility for public office. River Drying Lowers The Diversity And Alters The Composition Of An Assemblage Of Desert Riparian Arthropods, Kevin E. Mccluney, John L. Sabo

Summary 1. Many studies have shown negative effects of river drying on in‐stream animals. However, the influence of river drying on riparian animals remains poorly studied. We examined ground‐dwelling riparian arthropod assemblages along a drying section of the semi‐arid San Pedro River in southeastern Arizona, U.S.A.

2. We found strong differences in assemblage composition, taxon diversity and the abundance of key taxa between dry and flowing sites, with higher diversity and abundance of most taxa at flowing sites.

Herzog - Companion Animals and Health

Dolphinaria around the world offer opportunities to swim with captive dolphins and, in some cases, offer dolphin-therapy as a way to treat people with autism and other health issues. However, studies of dolphin therapy have been poorly designed and controlled and there is little hard evidence of positive health benefits from dolphin therapy.
