The mineral resources of the Tintic Mining District are influenced by three major events in its geologic history; the Mesozoic Sevier Orogeny, Paleogene volcanism and Late Neogene Basin and Range extension. In this paper a detailed analysis of each these geologic events is presented to help us understand the structural host, mineralization and exhumation of the Tintic Mining District ore. A kinematic analysis of the faults was completed to determine the origin of NE-trending faults, Sevier Orogeny or Basin and Range extension, in the northern part of the East Tintic Mountains in Allens Ranch 7.5' quadrangle, near the eastern margin …

Sensitive information is increasingly moving online and as data moves further from the control of its owner, there are increased opportunities for it to fall into malicious hands. The Web is comprised of three untrusted components where there is a risk of information compromise: networks, service providers, and clients. This thesis presents Trusted Mobile Overlays: a system that leverages trusted mobile devices to protect users from these untrusted components of the Web, while minimizing deployment difficulties. It presents a high-level design of the system as well as a prototype that implements the design.

In July of 1853, Chief Wakara's band of Utes clashed in a series of violent confrontations with the Mormon settlers. This conflict is known as the Walker War. Many complex factors contributed to this war. After some earlier violence between Mormons and different bands of Utes between 1847 and 1851, the Mormons continued their quick expansion settling on Ute lands. From 1851 to 1853 Mormon and Ute relations continued to decline as Mormons expanded their settlements occupying Ute hunting grounds. In addition to these land encroachments, new laws were enacted regulating trade between the Spanish and Utes by Brigham Young. …

The objective of this study was to explore the problem of shortage of accountants in Botswana in order to establish which types of accountants are in short supply, identify the sector of the economy which has been most affected by the shortage and find out how this shortage could be curtailed. A survey of the views of employers of accountants revealed the vacancy rate of professional accountants in Botswana as 15% of the establishment, with that the ratio of local to expatriate accountants about 1:1. It has been shown that improvement in sales revenue obtained through the implementation of Business Process Reengineering (BPR) programmes is ten times the improvement realised through the implementation of Total Quality Management programmes. However, the failure rate of BPR programmes has been shown to be high, about 70%. Most writers have confined themselves to identifying the causes of the failure of BPR programmes. Empirical evidence from developed economies provides that budgeting is a veritable tool for planning, controling, coordinating, communicating, evaluating and improving performance and decision making. On the other hand, some experts have mounted wide-ranging criticism of the manner in which budgetary systems are typically implemented. It is claimed that budgeting is not a worthwhile exercise, adds no value to organizations, managers are dissatisfied with it, and therefore it should be abandoned. This paper analyses the facts causing the mineral sector to make less of a contribution to the country ' s economy. Although the sector accounts for nearly half of the country ' s exports, ordinary Tanzanians are not benefiting from this because the government has implemented tax laws that overly favour multinational mining companies. The construction industry has to be competitive and be able to undertake most of the construction projects in Tanzania and export its services and product according to the Tanzania construction policy. This is contrary to the fact that the industry is dominated by Foreign Service providers to the tune of approximately 70 percent in terms of market share. This study employed an econometric model estimation to answer the question of what determined import for construction services in Tanzania for the period 1985-2008.
