Volterra Runge- Kutta Methods For Solving Nonlinear Volterra Integral Equations, Muna M. Mustafa
Baghdad Science Journal
In this paper Volterra Runge-Kutta methods which include: method of order two and four will be applied to general nonlinear Volterra integral equations of the second kind. Moreover we study the convergent of the algorithms of Volterra Runge-Kutta methods. Finally, programs for each method are written in MATLAB language and a comparison between the two types has been made depending on the least square errors.

The Voice: 2001-2011
This edition of the Wooster Voice kicks off the beginning of a new school year, it was published on September 3 of 2010, and it is eight pages long. The ARCH program has undergone a few changes within the past few years to be more accommodating to the incoming students. A new addition for first year's this year was Moove-In, where volunteers helped students unload their cars, and there was free food offered on campus. New dining options are being offered for the lunch hours: Lowry Center Dining Hall, Kittredge Dining Hall, Lowry Sub-Stop, Scot Dogs, Mom's Truck Stop, Old …

The Relationship Between Measured Levels Of Stress And Coping Preferences Of North Carolina Elementary Principals, Devon Carson
The Relationship Between Measured Levels Of Stress And Coping Preferences Of North Carolina Elementary Principals, Devon Carson
Electronic Theses and Dissertations Archive
The purpose of the study was to examine the sources of stress and the coping preferences of elementary school principals in North Carolina. Secondary analysis addressed demographic differences and any relationships between stress and coping preferences.Data were collected through the survey research method and was primarily descriptive and correlational. A questionnaire was emailed to 500 participants randomly selected for this research, 222 responded. The first section of questions consisted of the Administrative Stress Index (ASI), which comprised 35 stressors principals confront in their work. The second set of questions included the Roesch Coping Preference Scale (RCPS), consisting of 21 statements to …
Une Étude Foucaldienne De La « Femme Exotique » Comme Figure Pédagogique Du Désir Féminin Alternatif Dans Le Roman Français De 1747 À 1997, Valerie S. Putnam
Une Étude Foucaldienne De La « Femme Exotique » Comme Figure Pédagogique Du Désir Féminin Alternatif Dans Le Roman Français De 1747 À 1997, Valerie S. Putnam
Foreign Languages & Literatures ETDs
This dissertation examines the exotic woman's character in four French novels, Lettres d'une Péruvienne (1747) by Françoise de Graffigny, Ourika (1823) by Claire de Duras, La jongleuse (1900) by Rachilde and Poisson d'or (1997) by J-M.G. Le Clézio. Its principal argument is to show how these novels have been able to escape the interpretative constraint which sees in the figure of the exotic woman a space of Western colonization and domination, a figure subjugated by the double yoke of race and sex, subjected to the despotism of imitation. The reading of these novels suggests interpreting the use of this exotic …

An Ethnographic Exploration Of Parental Beliefs Of Migrant Farm Worker Parents, Alexis Marie Newton
An Ethnographic Exploration Of Parental Beliefs Of Migrant Farm Worker Parents, Alexis Marie Newton
Nursing ETDs
The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the health beliefs of migrant farm worker parents in their own words. The concepts of health beliefs were explored using the qualitative research design of ethnography. A purposive sample consisted of twenty migrant farm worker parents ranging in age from 19 to 50 working in Weld County in north central Colorado. Data collection took place over a 2 month period during growing season. Data were generated using the following techniques: interviews, field notes, and journaling. Ethnographic analysis yielded themes and sub-themes from the data. The overarching theme is the migrant …

Cleaning Up After Sex: An Environmental History Of Contraceptives In The United States, 1873—2010, Sarah Ruth Payne
Cleaning Up After Sex: An Environmental History Of Contraceptives In The United States, 1873—2010, Sarah Ruth Payne
History ETDs
I argue in my dissertation, 'Cleaning Up After Sex: An Environmental History of Contraceptives in the United States, 1873—2010,' that through the processes of contraceptive production, consumption, and disposal, over time, the role of contraceptives in human/nature interactions has become more significant and the impact more direct. I examine the production, consumption, and disposal histories of condoms, diaphragms and cervical caps, intrauterine devices, and hormonal birth control. Production, consumption, and disposal of the birth control methods I study have determined physical experiences with both our bodies and with the non-human natural world, but those three processes have also shaped discourse …

Dna Translocation Through An Array Of Kinked Nanopores, Zh Chen
Chemical and Biological Engineering ETDs
Synthetic solid-state nanopores are being intensively investigated as single-molecule sensors for detection and characterization of DNA, RNA, and proteins. This field has been inspired by the exquisite selectivity and flux demonstrated by natural biological channels and the dream of emulating these behaviors in more robust synthetic materials that are more readily integrated into practical devices. To date, the guided etching of polymer films, focused ion beam sculpting, and electron-beam lithography and tuning of silicon nitride membranes have emerged as three promising approaches to define synthetic solid-state pores with sub-nanometer resolution. These procedures have in common the formation of nominally cylindrical …

Empirical Geographic Modeling Of Switchgrass Yields In The United States, Henriette I. Jager, Latha M. Baskaran, Craig C. Brandt, Ethan B. Davis
Dartmouth Scholarship
Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum L.) is a perennial grass native to the United States that has been studied as a sustainable source of biomass fuel. Although many field‐scale studies have examined the potential of this grass as a bioenergy crop, these studies have not been integrated. In this study, we present an empirical model for switchgrass yield and use this model to predict yield for the conterminous United States. We added environmental covariates to assembled yield data from field trials based on geographic location. We developed empirical models based on these data. The resulting empirical models, which account for spatial …
Axial Temperature Gradients In Gas Chromatography, Jesse Alberto Contreras
Axial Temperature Gradients In Gas Chromatography, Jesse Alberto Contreras
Theses and Dissertations
The easiest and most effective way to influence the separation process in gas chromatography (GC) is achieved by controlling the temperature of the chromatographic column. In conventional GC, the temperature along the length of the column is constant at any given time, T(t). In my research, I investigated the effects of temperature gradients on GC separations as a function of time and position, T(t,x), along the column. This separation mode is called thermal gradient GC (TGGC). The research reported in this dissertation highlights the fundamental principles of axial temperature gradients and the separation potential of the TGGC technique. These goals …

Windows To The Young Brain, Julie O'Connor, Phillip Van Hulle
Windows To The Young Brain, Julie O'Connor, Phillip Van Hulle
New Science
There have been incredible strides in imaging technology over the past 40 years. Where scientists were once blind to the structure, chemistry and function of the living brain, they are now able to extract detailed information using structural, chemical and functional magnetic resonance imaging. From these methods, new understanding of the precursors and the bases of psychiatric disorders in the brain have emerged that one day may lead to more effective therapies for numerous disorders. Using these methods effectively is a challenge facing a team of psychiatrists from Wayne State’s divisions of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Brain Research and …
