The Impact Of Using The Cooperative Learning Method (Pairing Learning) In The Method Of Sequential And Random Exercise In Learning Some Basic Skills In Volleyball, Najla Abbas Nassif Dec 2008

The Impact Of Using The Cooperative Learning Method (Pairing Learning) In The Method Of Sequential And Random Exercise In Learning Some Basic Skills In Volleyball, Najla Abbas Nassif

Modern Sport

The researcher addressed the introduction and significance of the study, as well as the research problem. The study aimed to investigate the effect of cooperative learning using the serial practice method and the random practice method on learning some basic volleyball skills (setting, receiving, and serving). The researcher hypothesized that there are statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests for both research groups in learning these basic volleyball skills, and also significant differences between the two groups in the post-test results. The experimental method was used due to its suitability for the nature of the study, and the sample …

Competition Anxiety And Its Relationship To Satisfaction With The Leadership Role Of Team Leaders In The Elite Football League, Akla Suleiman Ali, Nizar Nazem Hamid Dec 2008

Competition Anxiety And Its Relationship To Satisfaction With The Leadership Role Of Team Leaders In The Elite Football League, Akla Suleiman Ali, Nizar Nazem Hamid

Modern Sport

Football is considered one of the most popular sports worldwide, if not the most popular. Observing the significant development in the performance of international teams, it is clear that this progress no longer relies solely on sports training as a science directly related to achievement but also increasingly focuses on studying other supporting sciences that enhance performance. In this context, sports education experts emphasize that most international teams are very close in terms of physical, technical, and tactical levels. Therefore, an important factor determining the outcome of their competitive struggles is the psychological factor, which plays a crucial role in …

Islamic Education And Its Relationship To Scout Education, Nepal Karim Abdullah Dec 2008

Islamic Education And Its Relationship To Scout Education, Nepal Karim Abdullah

Modern Sport

Education on the history of scouting in Islam has not received adequate attention from researchers in general, which motivated the researcher to explore the relationship between Islamic education and scouting through studying Islamic teachings. The goal of the research was to identify the true educational objectives of scouting and provide evidence confirming that Islamic education is fundamentally connected to scout education, supported by references from the Qur’an and the Prophet’s noble sayings. The researcher concluded that the objectives and principles of scout education call for adherence to religion as the primary foundation, conclusively proving that the roots of scout education …

Grey Measurement Based On Rough Set Granule Calculations, Jian Liu, Zhili Huang, Shunxiang Wu, Ruiyi Chen

Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works

This paper put the Rough set methodology based on the information table disposal to expand the dual (binary) relations described by the neighborhood system. To make full use of logic operations including AND operation by-bit, XOR operation by-bit and NOR operation by-bit, gains the certain and uncertain information among the various decision-making factors. The use of knowledge related with Grey system theory, establishes their mathematical model for decision making and data mining, according to the principle of the priority of certain information in decision-making and the ambiguity degree from small to big. At last, a new method for data mining …

Zeng Jingyan Accepts Hu Jia’S Sakharov Prize Dec 2008

Zeng Jingyan Accepts Hu Jia’S Sakharov Prize

China Beat Blog: Archive 2008-2012

In late October, the European Parliament announced that it would award this year’s Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought to Hu Jia, an activist for HIV/AIDS and the environment currently imprisoned in Beijing. Hu and his wife, Zeng Jingyan, have been adept at using new media to share their message of human rights activism with an international audience, making Hu Jia better known outside China than inside it.

The award ceremony was held December 17. China has continued to protest the award.

Zeng Jingyan, who remains under surveillance at the couple’s apartment, accepted the award via video, subsequently posted on …

Secondary Electron Imaging Of Embedded Defects In Carbon Nanofiber Via Interconnects, Makoto Suzuki, Yusuke Ominami, Takashi Sekiguchi, Cary Y. Yang Dec 2008

Secondary Electron Imaging Of Embedded Defects In Carbon Nanofiber Via Interconnects, Makoto Suzuki, Yusuke Ominami, Takashi Sekiguchi, Cary Y. Yang

Electrical and Computer Engineering

Carbon nanofiber (CNF) via interconnect test structures are fabricated with the bottom-up process proposed by Li et al. [Appl. Phys. Lett. 82, 2491 (2003)] for next-generation integrated circuit technology. Critical defects in the interconnect structure are examined using scanning electron microscopy. It is shown that secondary electron signal with optimized incident beam energy is useful for detecting embedded defects, including unexposed CNF plugs and voids in the dielectric layer. The defect imaging mechanisms are elucidated based on beam-induced charging of the specimen surface.

Laser-Induced Photon-Branched Chain Reaction In A Chemically-Active Gas-Dispersed Medium, Thomas George, Renat Letfullin, Galen Duree Dec 2008

Laser-Induced Photon-Branched Chain Reaction In A Chemically-Active Gas-Dispersed Medium, Thomas George, Renat Letfullin, Galen Duree

Chemistry & Biochemistry Faculty Works

A promising avenue in the development of high-energy pulsed chemical HF/DF lasers and amplifiers is the utilization of a photon-branched chain reaction initiated in a two-phase active medium, that is, a medium containing a laser working gas and ultradispersed passivated metal particles. These particles are evaporated under the action of IR laser radiation which results in the appearance of free atoms, their diffusion into the gas, and the development of a photon-branching chain process, which involves photons as both reactants and products. The key obstacle here is the formation of a relatively large volume (in excess of 10^3 cm^3) of …
