Wildlife Responses To Vegetation Height Management In Cool-Season Grasslands, Brian E. Washburn, Thomas W. Seamans

Herbaceous vegetation comprises the main habitat type in cool-seasons grasslands and can be managed by various methods. We compared changes in plant communities and bird and mammal use of grasslands that were not managed, managed by mechanical methods (mowing), or managed by chemical methods (plant growth regulator). This 1-year study was conducted from May through October 2003 in Erie County, Ohio. Twelve circular 1.5 ha plots were established: 4 were not managed, 4 were mowed to maintain vegetation height between 9–15 cm, and 4 were sprayed with a plant growth regulator and mowed when vegetation exceeded 15 cm. Thermo-Mechanical Design Of A 100 Ghz Mmic Power Amplifier Using Flip Chip Technology, Sean Cremin

This thesis is concerned with the thermo-mechanical design, thermal modelling and temperature profile measurement of a 100 GHz flip chip bump bonded MMIC medium power amplifier.

Flip chip mounting offers superior RF performance in terms of output power, gain, noise figure and bandwidth. The thermal challenge was to dissipate approximately two watts of DC power from the GaAs MMIC (monolithic microwave integrated circuit) through Au (gold) stud bumps which equates to less then 7% of the total surface area of the die. Infrared thermographic images confirmed that the flip chip MMIC amplifier was functional with all eight FET stages on …

The objectives of this project were:

i. To establish adult reference ranges for routine chemistries quoted in the Clinical Biochemistry Department, Cork University Hospital (CUH), by using samples from blood donors at the local blood bank. 120 samples of blood from male blood donors and 120 samples from female blood donors were collected from the Irish Blood Transfusion Service (Cork). These samples were analysed for 21 routine chemistry analytes, using non-parametric statistics.

The standard for copyright protection is notoriously low the work must be independently created by the author and possess a minimal degree of creativity. Even with this low standard, blank forms, and other forms which do not convey information, are categorically denied copyright protection. In contrast, the standard for design patent protection is much more burdensome. Design patents protect news, original, ornamental, and non-obvious designs. Even though there is a higher standard, the Patent and Trademark Office has issued design patents for blank forms.

Background and Purpose: Although upper extremity injuries and fractures are common in children, fractures of the ulna with dislocation of the radial head represent a small portion of the upper extremity fractures. The purpose of this case report is to describe the physical therapy intervention of such a fracture-dislocation in a child.

Decision tree (DT) has great potential in image semantic learning due to its simplicity in implementation and its robustness to incomplete and noisy data. Decision tree learning naturally requires the input attributes to be nominal (discrete). However, proper discretization of continuous-valued image features is a difficult task. There are many good articles on various forecasting models. There is consensus that no single diffusion model is best for every situation. Experts in the field have asked for studies to provide empirical-based guidelines for recommending when various models should be used. This research investigates multiple diffusion models and provides recommendations for which diffusion models are appropriate for radical and really new products and services before the launch of the innovation.
