Walther Kohler ended his classic account of the eucharistic controversy, Zwingli und Luther, with a description of the synod of Swiss theologians that met in Zurich in April of 1538. Held almost two years after the signing of the Wittenberg Concord, the synod was Martin Bucer's last opportunity to persuade the Swiss to continue negotiations for eucharistic concord with Luther. Bucer had reason to hope for positive results from the synod, for at least some of the Swiss were open to further discussion. The delegates from Basel, Bern, St. Gall, and Mulhouse supported a favorable response to a recent …

Larry Hillman - teacher, mentor, and mathematician, was the creator of the mathematical problems found within the Institute for the Development of Gifted Education's publication, Larry Math Cards. Larry taught at the middle school level at the Ricks Center for Gifted Children on the University of Denver campus from 1999 until his death in 2002. He was passionate about teaching gifted learners and his students knew him to be a uniquely brilliant scholar and a stimulating educator. He enlightened their understanding of mathematics as his questions challenged their assumptions and his encouragement fueled their ambitions.

A method for reducing circuit sensitivity to single event upsets in programmable logic devices, involves identifying single event upset sensitive gates within a single event upset sensitive sub-circuit of a programmable logic device as determined by the input environment and introducing triple modular redundancy and voter circuits for each single event upset sensitive sub-circuit so identified.

This invention has incorporated projective optics and phase conjugate material thus eliminating the requisite use of an external phase conjugate material to provide a see-through head mounted projective display. A key component of the invention is the use of optical imaging technology in combination with projective optics to make this revolutionary technology work. In previous head mounted projective displays the phase conjugate material had to be placed in the environment to display images, but in this invention one is not limited to the use of an external phase conjugate material but further extends its use to outdoor see-through augmented reality …

James Blakeney is a long time Bronx resident who grew up in the Patterson Housing Projects. His parents were sharecroppers from North and South Carolina. Neither of his parents received an education beyond the 6th or 8th grade. His father fought in World War II and then returned to the states to live in Queens, where James lived for three years, before moving to the Patterson Houses.
