Epidemiology Of Ustilago Bullata Berk. On Bromus Tectorum L. And Implication For Biological Control, Toupta Boguena
Epidemiology Of Ustilago Bullata Berk. On Bromus Tectorum L. And Implication For Biological Control, Toupta Boguena
Theses and Dissertations
The seedling-infecting pathogen Ustilago bullata Berk. is a naturally occurring biological control agent for cheatgrass (Bromus tectorum L.). The effects of temperature and nutrients on pathogen teliospore germination behavior and the effects of temperature on host seed germination were examined. The effects of temperature on sporidial proliferation, host infection in a temperature-controlled environment and in a field setting for eight populations were investigated. The infection success of Ustilago bullata on Bromus tectorum in cultivated fields as a function of seeding date, inoculation method, inoculum density, supplemental watering, and litter was also investigated. Teliospores germinated faster on potato dextrose agar than …

Http://Www.Companynamesucks.Com: The Horizontal Effect Of Fundamental Rights On Private Parties Within Autonomous Internet Law, Vaios Karavas, Gunther Teubner
ExpressO
Much critique has recently been raised over the role played by ICANN Panels, when they adjudicate disputes over domain names. This article deals with the highly contentious question, whether or not ICANN Panels should or may enforce fundamental rights (e.g. free speech rights) against private parties within the legal order of ICANN, understood by us as semi-autonomous. Our thesis in this regard is that ICANN Panels in fact concretise fundamental rights within Cyberspace on the basis of a fiction. They draw upon the fiction of a "common core" of globally applicable principles of law, which include even human rights. Building …

Bullying In College And Relation To Self-Esteem And Parenting Styles, Steven Russell
Theses and Dissertations
This study investigates bullying in college and the relationship of bullying and self-esteem in the victims of bullying, as well as the relationship of parenting styles to bullying behavior. The study utilized N = 85 undergraduate students from a midsize northeastern university. The participants were administered a demographic questionnaire, a bullying questionnaire, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Parental Authority Questionnaire. Frequency percentages were used to report incidence and types of bullying behavior. A correlation matrix was employed to ascertain the relationships between bullying and self-esteem, as well as between parenting style and bullying behavior, and a multiple regression analysis …
Environmental Justice And Information Technologies: Overcoming The Information Access Paradox In Urban Communities, Wendy A. Kellogg, Anjali Mathur
Environmental Justice And Information Technologies: Overcoming The Information Access Paradox In Urban Communities, Wendy A. Kellogg, Anjali Mathur
All Maxine Goodman Levin School of Urban Affairs Publications
Scientific studies and resident testimony suggest that urban residents in low-income and minority communities have been subject to an unequal burden of environmental pollution and inequitable environmental enforcement practices. A key component of the equitable development and implementation of environmental policies is the participation of citizens and community-based organizations in the policy process. Such participation rests upon equitable access to agency-generated environmental information and effective use of that information by citizens. This article focuses on the adoption of Internet technologies by environmental agencies as a mechanism for disseminating information and the implications for low-income and minority residents in urban communities. …
