Si Doping Of High-Al-Mole Fraction Alxga1-Xn Alloys With Rf Plasma-Induced Molecular-Beam-Epitaxy, Jeonghyun Hwang, William J. Schaff, Lester F. Eastman, Shawn T. Bradley, Leonard J. Brillson, David C. Look, J. Wu, Wladek Walukiewicz, Madalina Furis, Alexander N. Cartwright

Very high levels of n-type doping of Al_xGa_1−xN alloys were recently achieved by rf plasma-induced molecular-beam epitaxy on sapphire substrates and Si as a dopant. Electron concentrations were obtained up to 1.25×10²⁰ cm⁻³ when the Al mole fraction was 50%, and 8.5×10¹⁹ cm⁻³ electrons were measured even when the Al mole fraction was 80%. Other material properties were determined by optical absorption, photoluminescence, cathodoluminescence, x-ray diffraction, and atomic force microscopy measurements and high optical and morphological qualities were shown.

The neutral donor bound exciton recombination processes in freestanding GaN have been studied. The photoluminescence spectrum shows emission lines related to silicon and oxygen donors. Time-resolved luminescence allows us to correlate the principal donor bound exciton lines with their two-electron satellites. The magnetic field splitting of the two-electron lines is well described by the theory of the hydrogen atom in a magnetic field. For the oxygen donor a 1.5 meV chemical shift and a 30.8 meV effective Rydberg have been evaluated. This paper examines the construction of the Religious and Moral Education 5-14 Draft Guidelines in Scotland and the Catholic Church’s response to these guidelines. The content and background of this document are explored by examining the process followed by the Review and Development Group for religious education. Catholic institutions of higher education continue to wrestle with the demands of John Paul II’s Apostolic Constitution, Ex Corde Ecclesiae. This article looks beyond the juridical aspects of implementation and focuses on culture as a way to explore the contribution of Catholic colleges and universities to the broader life of the Church and to the wider academy. Popular culture, with its dependence on visual imagery and entertainment, creates a particular challenge for advancing the unique mission and identity of Catholic institutions.

Describes a study that investigates the marketing of "free-based" information services in five selected academic libraries in Sri Lanka. A total of 5 senior librarians were interviewed and 250 library users answered questionaires. The study revealed that all the academic libraries offer free information services to their clients with the exception of photocopying and document delivery services. The academic libraries should aggressively market their services/products and must move from the provision of traditional library services(book loans) to a more IT based information services(Internet).

Orthognathic Surgery In The University Of Malaya, Wei Cheong Ngeow

This is the first review on orthognathic surgery in Malaysia. The records of a total of 84 patients seen between 1977 and 1999 in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Malaya were analysed. Skeletal III deformity formed 85 of the sample with a female dominance of 2 to 1. The patients' age ranged from 17 to 36 years, with a mean of 25.3 years. The common surgical techniques used were combined bilateral sagittal split and Le Fort I osteotomy. The predominant ethnic group was Chinese (n=58, 69); followed by Malay (n=14, 17) …
