Agricultural Land Reform Policy In Western Ukraine : The Influence Of Environmental History And Ethics, Andrew B. Wowk

Agricultural land privatization is an important environmental and economic policy within Ukraine, which is transitioning to a market-based economy. This thesis studied the influence of bioregional environmental history and environmental ethics on land privatization in Western Ukraine, within Lviv oblast, through historical research and field research of private farmers.
Historical research showed that due to its environmental history, the study area was particularly receptive to land privatization after Ukraine's independence in 1991. Field research indicated that farmers in the study area generally see private ownership of land as better for humans and the environment than collective land ownership. The farmers …

Current Requirements By Electro Hydrodynamic Filter Systems Under Shipboard Operation Conditions, Ravi Shankar Attri

An experimental study was performed to determine the current required by an ElectroHydrodynamic (EHD) filter system to clean contaminants from Diesel Engine Lubrication Oil under normal shipboard operation conditions. The amount of current at a set predetermined voltage, which together means Power, was needed in order to anticipate the power required to perform a Shipboard Site Test Evaluation of the EHD filter.
The filter uses the effect of dielectrophoresis to separate contaminants from the lubrication oil. The filter operates at two thousand volts (2KV ac-rms) and thus requires substantial current to energize its electrodes. This type of Power is not …

… This article reports on the new model of principals' training that has been used in York University's Principals' Qualification Program (PQP) from the late 1990s onward. One component of the program brings traditional case methodology into a computer-mediated/on-line environment. Country Clergymen: National And Religious Mediations On The Victorian Clerical Novel, Kristina L. Hochwender
Retrospective Theses and Dissertations
The Victorian preoccupation with religious matters is particularly focused in novels which take clergymen for their protagonists, reflecting contemporary ideals of clerical character and import. Victorian clerical novels both popularized and controlled controversies which beset the Victorian Church of England. Parish life assumed a familiar relationship with clergymen who interpreted the national faith; clerical novelists insistently created men of dimension and fallibility to explore the complicated relationships between the slowly-changing national church and the needs of a rapidly-changing society. This study identifies qualities which bind clerical novels together despite often differing theological positions, and looks closely at three clerical novels, …
