Review Of Diana O'Hara, Courtship And Constraint: Rethinking The Making Of Marriage In Tudor England, And Retha Warnicke, The Marrying Of Anne Of Cleves: Royal Protocol In Tudor England, Carole Levin

There have been a number of books and articles in the last decade that focus on family and marriage, including courtship, in early modern England or on the negotiations of specific marriages. Many of these studies were written in response to the pioneering but often controversial work by Lawrence Stone. Literary scholars, such as Catherine Bates and Ilona Bell, and historians such as Barbara Harris, Sara Mendelson and Patricia Crawford, Eric Carlson, Alan MacFarlane, and Ralph Houlbrooke have brought a variety of view points and much more subtlety to the whole discussion. To ensure recreational fishing in WA has a bright futre, a series of regional management stategies are being developed with have the following objectives: 1. Review the appropriateness of current controls, given the significant growth in recreational fishing. 2. Ensure that effective management is in place for the recreational fishing sector that contributes to the sustainability of WA's fish stocks. 3. Position recreational fishing so it can be incorporated into tan integrated management framework in which resource sharing issues can be addressed.

The guidelines: 1. Describe the role and function of Fish Habitat Protection Areas; 2. Guide proponents in selecting a suitable site for an FHPA; 3. Describe the process to be used to develop a proposal for an FHPA; 4. Describe the methodology to be used to develop a management plan for an FHPA; 5. Ensure consistency between applications.

Chicago-Kent Law Review

The widespread adoption by transition economies of competition policy systems raises important questions about the design and phasing of legal reforms in emerging markets. Success in transition economies in developing useful competition policy programs and other economic legal reforms requires close attention to the establishment of public and private institutions whose effective operation is essential to a legal regime. Properly conceived competition policy programs that account carefully for national circumstances can play a constructive role in promoting economic growth. State by state the role of generation, transmission, and distribution is becoming more dynamic and market driven as regulated electric monopolies shed their vertically integrated structures and reinvent themselves for the competitive marketplace. California's turbulent move to an open electricity market provides a good example of how this process can go wrong. This Note highlights some of the key developments in California's recent energy troubles, and considers the unique challenges for the Illinois electricity market.
