Evidence Of Nanostructure In Multilayer Cdse Thin Films, Suganthi Devadason
Evidence Of Nanostructure In Multilayer Cdse Thin Films, Suganthi Devadason
Student Works (2000-2009)
Cadmium Selenide multilayer thin films have been prepared using physical vapour deposition method. Alternate layers of Cadmium and Selenium are deposited on unheated glass substrates. Morphological study of the samples has been done using SEM micrographs with a magnification of 5000. The EDX analysis gives the quantitative atomic percentage content of elements present in the samples. It is found that the high Cadmium content in the samples increased the crystallinity. From XRD measurements, it is evident that many films are polycrystalline in nature with a peak corresponding to < 111 > plane orientation of the zinc blende structure. The lattice constant of the …

Future Dangerousness In Capital Cases: Always "At Issue", John H. Blume, Stephen P. Garvey, Sheri Lynn Johnson
Future Dangerousness In Capital Cases: Always "At Issue", John H. Blume, Stephen P. Garvey, Sheri Lynn Johnson
Cornell Law Faculty Publications
Under Simmons v. South Carolina, a capital defendant who, if not sentenced to death, will remain in prison with no chance of parole is constitutionally entitled to an instruction informing the jury of the fact, but only if the prosecution engages in conduct that places the defendant's future dangerousness "at issue." Based on data collected from interviews with South Carolina capital jurors, Professors Blume, Garvey and Johnson argue that future dangerousness is on the minds of most capital jurors, and is thus "at issue" in virtually all capital trials, regardless of the prosecution's conduct. Accordingly, the authors argue that …

The Beaumont-Wilshire Neighborhood Center Study: Land Use, Transportation, And Design On Ne Fremont Street From Ne 33rd To Ne 50th Avenue, Marta Conkle, Lisa Selman, Beth St. Amand, Diane Sullivan, Greg Theisen
Master of Urban and Regional Planning Workshop Projects
The Beaumont Wilshire Neighborhood Center Study presents a comprehensive overview of NE Fremont between NE 33rd and NE 50th. It examines NE Fremont within the context of a neighborhood center or main street, which is defined as a neighborhood or community business district.
This study provides BWNA with information that it can use to preserve the character of the neighborhood and guide future growth. The study examines each issue to determine the nature and extent of the problem, assess how the issue impacts the operation of the neighborhood center, and presents potential strategies or tools to maintain …
The Deadly Paradox Of Capital Jurors, Theodore Eisenberg, Stephen P. Garvey, Martin T. Wells
The Deadly Paradox Of Capital Jurors, Theodore Eisenberg, Stephen P. Garvey, Martin T. Wells
Cornell Law Faculty Publications
We examine support for the death penalty among a unique group of respondents: one hundred and eighty-seven citizens who actually served as jurors on capital trials in South Carolina. Capital jurors support the death penalty as much as, if not more than, members of the general public. Yet capital jurors, like poll respondents, harbor doubts about the penalty's fairness. Moreover, jurors--black jurors and Southern Baptists in particular--are ready to abandon their support for the death penalty when the alternative to death is life imprisonment without the possibility of parole, especially when combined with a requirement of restitution. Support for the …
