Robust High-Pass And Notch Gm - (Grounded) C Biquads: How Many Different Topologies Are There?, Vladimir I. Prodanov
Electrical Engineering
This paper deals with Gm-C biquadratic filters that use grounded capacitors. We derive all practical HP and notch filter topologies that do not require critical component matching. The aim of this derivation was to discover new architectures. The result of this derivation is quite unexpected: there are only three distinct topologies (one notch and: two high-pass). None of them is particularly new because all reported in the literature biquad circuits are their embodiments.

Metal Ion Stabilization Of G-Tetrads Containing 6-Thioguanosine, Julia Drees
Metal Ion Stabilization Of G-Tetrads Containing 6-Thioguanosine, Julia Drees
Honors Theses
As alternative structures to the double helix, G-tetrads are thought to occur in DNA with many repeating deoxyguanosines (dG). These tetrads have one dG on each corner of a plane and can stack into tetraplexes that can be aptamers and may be found in telomeres. G-tetrads are destabilized by incorporation of 6-thiodeoxyguanosine (?sdG). Addition of metal ions that bind sulfur may stabilize these ?sdG-tetrads. We have carried out a survey of metal ion titrations into ?sG. Stable ?sG:MD? complexes were found for Hg2? (2:1), Cd2? (4:1), Ag2? (0.7:1) and Pt2? (thought to be 2:1). UV/Visible spectrophotometry indicates that G-tetrads containing …
Photochemical Generation And Intramolecular Chemistry Of 2-Hydroxy-2-Methylpropylidene, Robin Farlow
Photochemical Generation And Intramolecular Chemistry Of 2-Hydroxy-2-Methylpropylidene, Robin Farlow
Honors Theses
2-(1a,9b-Dihydro-lH-cyclopropa[l]phenanthren-1-yl)-propan-2-ol was synthesized by two different but related synthetic routes and characterized by melting point, IR GC/MS, CHN, and NMR spectroscopy. Photolysis of the alcohol in benzene d-6 led to the formation of 2-butanone, 1-methylcyclopropanol, and 2,2-dimethyloxirane in a 26:10:1 ratio via 2-hydroxy-2methylpropylidene, a novel ?-hydroxycarbene. These products are a consequence of intramolecular insertions of the carbene into C-C, C-H, and O-H bonds. Molecular orbital calculations performed at the Becke-3LYP/6-31G(d) level indicate that the singlet form of this carbene is more thermodynamically stable than the triplet. Furthermore, the transition states to the three products from the singlet species were modeled …
Rainfall-Runoff Modeling In Humid Shallow Water Table Environments, Tatiana X. Hernandez
Rainfall-Runoff Modeling In Humid Shallow Water Table Environments, Tatiana X. Hernandez
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Simulating the processes of rainfall and runoff are at the core of hydrologic modeling. Geomorphologic features, rainfall variability, soil types, and water table depths strongly influence hydrological process in Florida ecosystems. Topographic characteristics of the terrain define the stream paths and landscape. Alteration of these characteristics as a result of urban and/or agricultural developments, for example, can highly influence wetlands and river basin response. There are two predominant landforms in Florida: wetlands, where Variable Saturated Areas form near streams causing saturation excess runoff, and uplands where runoff is mainly generated by infiltration excess. The objective of this work is to …

C. William Pollard Papers
Speaking at the Catholic CEO Healthcare Connection in Dallas, Pollard commends Catholic healthcare organizations for their faith-based approach to an increasingly complex issue in American life. In addition to this, he outlines the main contours of servant leadership, which he believes will help such organizations to maintain a people-centered approach in an increasingly profit-driven and rapidly changing economy.

Public Relations Efforts To Promote New Graduate Programs, Joe Chambers
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this thesis was to accumulate information relative to the various public relations practices, methods, and procedures utilized by Rowan University, a state institution of higher learning, and comparing and contrasting them with that of a private institution of higher learning. The differences and similarities between public and private institutions of higher learning were examined and a survey of Undergraduate Accounting students at Rowan was evaluated quantitatively.
Twenty-four questions were on the survey that covered the universe of undergraduate Accounting I and Accounting Il students at Rowan University during the fall semester 2000. Of these twenty-four questions, thirteen …

The Psychological Processing Checklist: Relationship To The Cognitive Assessment System, Shelly L. Lucas
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this research was to test the validity of the Psychological Processing Checklist (PPC) against the Cognitive Assessment System (CAS). The participants of this study consisted of 30 first grade students, 11 girls and 19 boys whose ages ranged from 6 years 6 months to 7 years 11 months and their teachers from Monroe Township, New Jersey. Each child was evaluated with the Psychological Processing Checklist by their teacher and the Cognitive Assessment System by the researcher. The full scale raw scores, the full scale percentile ranks and the subscales of the two tests were then compared using …
