Critical Variables Of Solder Paste Stencil Printing For Micro-Bga And Fine Pitch Qfp, Jianbiao Pan, Gregory L. Tonkay, Robert H. Storer, Ronald M. Sallade, David J. Leandri
Critical Variables Of Solder Paste Stencil Printing For Micro-Bga And Fine Pitch Qfp, Jianbiao Pan, Gregory L. Tonkay, Robert H. Storer, Ronald M. Sallade, David J. Leandri
Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Stencil printing continues to be the dominant method of solder deposition in high volume surface mount assembly. Control of the amount of solder paste deposited is critical for fine pitch and ultra-fine pitch SMT assembly. The process is still not well understood as indicated by the fact that industry reports 52-71% of SMT defects are related to the solder paste stencil printing process. The purpose of this paper is to identify the critical variables that influence the deposited solder paste volume, area, and height. An experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of relevant process parameters on the amount of …

Search For A Technicolor ΩT Particle In Events With A Photon And A B-Quark Jet At Fermilab, F. Abe, Kenneth A. Bloom, Collider Detector At Fermilab Collaboration
Kenneth Bloom Publications
If the technicolor ωT particle exists, a likely decay mode is ωT→ γπT , followed by πT → bb̅, yielding the signature γbb̅. We have searched 85 pb-1 of data collected by the CDF experiment at the Fermilab Tevatron for events with a photon and two jets, where one of the jets must contain a secondary vertex implying the presence of a b quark. We find no excess of events above standard model expectations. We express the result as an exclusion region in the MωT -MπT …

Coulomb Crystals And Glasses For Self-Assembly Of Nanoparticles, P. F. Williams, A. Belolipetski, A. Goussev, M. E. Markes
P. F. (Paul Frazer) Williams Publications
Under proper conditions, small particles may be suspended in a regularly-spaced array called a Coulomb crystal. In this paper we discuss the application of this phenomenon to the self-assembly of nanoparticles in a lattice-lie array on a substrate. Issues associated with depositing the particles, and the size and lattice spacing of the particles are discussed.

Case Study: Modernization Of The Government Highline Canal, Stuart W. Styles, Charles M. Burt, Ram Dhan Khalsa, Robert Norman
Case Study: Modernization Of The Government Highline Canal, Stuart W. Styles, Charles M. Burt, Ram Dhan Khalsa, Robert Norman
BioResource and Agricultural Engineering
The Government Highline Canal Modernization Study was completed to evaluate options for reducing the flow rate requirement of the Government Highline Canal during the late Summer and Fall water delivery months. The intent was to develop a design for which Colorado River diversions could be better matched to on-farm demands. The two primary challenges associated with reducing diversions are that (i) at low canal flows many turnouts do not have sufficient pressure, and (ii) it is difficult to schedule diversions to match deliveries. The Government Highline Canal is part of the federal Grand Valley Project in the Colorado River Basin …

Model To Evaluate Potential Production And Income Responses Of Reindeer Herds Under Different Management Strategies, G.L. Finstad, A.K. Prichard
Model To Evaluate Potential Production And Income Responses Of Reindeer Herds Under Different Management Strategies, G.L. Finstad, A.K. Prichard
Circulars
Free-range reindeer in western Alaska are managed for both velvet antler and meat production. Optimal management should maximize the income generated from both meat and antler production while managing the herd at levels below the carrying capacity of the range. Meat production precludes future antler production from harvested animals, therefore harvest decisions should reflect antler and body growth rates, current antler and meat prices, natural survival rates, and population demographics. We present a user-friendly computer model to generate estimates of net income under different harvest levels and market conditions. Input variables include sex- and agespecific survival rates, harvest levels, castration …
Current Canal Modernization From An International Perspective, Charles M. Burt
Current Canal Modernization From An International Perspective, Charles M. Burt
BioResource and Agricultural Engineering
Modernization differs from rehabilitation, which simply returns a deteriorated project or structures to their original new state. Rehabilitation by itself typically only perpetuates the vicious cycle of rehabilitation, deterioration, rehabilitation, etc. A modern irrigation design is the result of a thought process that selects the configuration and the physical components in light of a well-defined and realistic operation plan that is based on the service concept. A modern irrigation design is not defined by specific hardware components and control logic. Advanced concepts of hydraulic engineering, irrigation engineering, agronomy, and social science should be used to arrive at the most simple …

Public Trust And Confidence In The Courts: What Public Opinion Surveys Mean To Judges, David B. Rottman, Alan Tomkins
Public Trust And Confidence In The Courts: What Public Opinion Surveys Mean To Judges, David B. Rottman, Alan Tomkins
Alan Tomkins Publications
In August 1998 a comprehensive national survey added to the growing mass of information on how the public perceives the state courts. The “Perceptions of the U.S. Justice System,” commissioned by the American Bar Association, relied on telephone interviews of 1,000 American adults selected at random. The respondents were asked for their opinions about “the justice system,” lawyers, judges, law enforcement and the courts. The findings from the ABA survey were optimistic relative to most of the previous surveys. Public confidence in the courts relative to other major institutions seemed higher, and experience with courts appeared to promote higher rather …

Rounding Up The Usual Suspects: Academia's Version Of Driving While Black (Dwb), Cecil E. Canton
Different Perspectives on Majority Rules: 4th Annual National Conference (1999)
“In much the same way that law enforcement agents identify Blacks for these routine, but illegal, traffic stops, agents of predominantly white institutions identify the few faculty of color, and ‘round up these usual suspects’ to ensure that their committees will have the appropriate racial, gender or ethnic representation.”
