Chief Executive Officers Of California Environmental Organizations: A Study Of Personal Values Congruence With Organizational Mission, Christine Marie Schmidt
Chief Executive Officers Of California Environmental Organizations: A Study Of Personal Values Congruence With Organizational Mission, Christine Marie Schmidt
Master's Theses
This study surveyed the Chief Executive Officers of 300 California environmental organizations to investigate whether these officers were personally committed to their organizations' missions as demonstrated by 1) past and present activities in their personal lives that indicated personal values similar to those espoused by the organization, and 2) their intent to stay with their organization. It was hypothesized that the level of activity in the personal lives of the CEOs demonstrating personal commitment to their organizations would be positively related to their intent to stay with their organizations. It was also expected that there would be a negative association …

Clyde MacDonald Jr. was born in 1929 in Old Orchard Beach to Nellie MacDonald and Clyde MacDonald Sr., who were both of Canadian descent. The oldest of four children, MacDonald enlisted in the Army and served during the Korean War in Germany. After he left the military, he became interested in politics at the local level. He attended Portland Junior College for two years and then Bates for two years. He later earned a doctorate at the University of Maine while teaching undergraduate classes there. Simulating Gas Exchange In The Human Lung And Body, Noah D. Syroid, Joseph A. Orr, Dwayne R. Westenkow
Simulating Gas Exchange In The Human Lung And Body, Noah D. Syroid, Joseph A. Orr, Dwayne R. Westenkow
Utah Space Grant Consortium
We have implemented a real-time simulator of gas exchange in the human body and lung. The system realistically mimics respiratory gas uptake and production as a function of pulmonary, cardiovascular, and metabolic parameters. The implementation consists of hardware and software to control the flow of gases entering and leaving a ventilated test lung. Such a device could serve as a bench-top resource for testing newly developed anesthesia, hemo-dynamic, and patient monitors. Preliminary tests have been performed for validation of a non-invasive cardiac monitor. The results, while promising, expose the need for more sophisticated models of the human respiratory and circulatory …

Defendant's Reply To Plaintiff's Brief In Opposition To Trial By Jury And Amended Answer Of The State Of Ohio To The Petition For Declaration Of Wrongful Incarceration, William D. Mason, Marilyn B. Cassidy
1995-2002 Court Filings
The State of Ohio’s brief in response to the Estate of Sam Sheppard’s opposition to having a jury trial. The document provides a history of wrongful imprisonment lawsuits in Ohio and argues that false imprisonment was a cause of action at common law at the time the Ohio Constitution was ratified, which affords the State a right to trial by jury.

Identification Of Quantitative Trait Loci Affecting Female Reproductive Traits In A Multigeneration Meishan-White Composite Swine Population, G. A. Rohrer, J. J. Ford, T. H. Wise, J. L. Vallet, R. K. Christenson
United States Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Research Service / University of Nebraska-Lincoln: Faculty Publications
A multigeneration crossbred Meishan- White composite resource population was used to identify quantitative trait loci (QTL) for age at first estrus (AP) and the components of litter size: ovulation rate (OR; number of ova released in an estrous period) and uterine capacity (UC). The population was established by reciprocally mating Meishan (ME) and White composite (WC) pigs. Resultant F1 females were mated to either ME or WC boars to produce backcross progeny (BC) of either ¾ WC ¼ ME or ¼ WC ¾ ME. To produce the next generation (F3) , ¾ WC ¼ ME animals were mated …
