Experiments To Maximize Growth In Captive Florida Pompano (Trachinotus Carolinus), Brian J. Hicks
HCNSO Student Theses and Dissertations
Florida pompano (Trachinotus carolinus) are highly prized food and sport fish indigenous to coastal areas of the southeastern United States. A commercially valuable fishery has historically existed in the Gulf of Mexico and on the South Atlantic seaboard. Efforts to economically culture Florida pompano in a captive environment were only partially successful. Four experiments were performed to explore the physical and environmental requirements of Florida pompano and other closely related species in the Family (Carangidae):
Experiment #1- Semi-natural spawning was induced with newly developed hormonal implants. to initiate and sustain semi-natural spawning in captive Florida pompano. Fish collected from the …

"Because The Constitution Requires It And Because Justice Demands It": Specific Speech Injunctive Relief For Title Vii Hostile Work Environment Claims, Cecilee Price-Huish
William & Mary Bill of Rights Journal
Abusive speech often is used effectively by harassers in the workplace to intimidate, terrorize, objectify, and humiliate their intended victims, thus helping to secure and maintain social inequality in the workforce, especially among racial and gender minority employees. Pursuant to the adoption of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the United States Supreme Court, in Meritor Savings Bank v. Vinson, interpreted the statute's anti-employment discrimination mandate as imposing liability for conduct or words in the workplace that have the purpose or effect of interfering with an employee's work performance or of creating an intimidating or hostile work …

1997 (9th) Report Of The Nou Records Committee, Mark A. Brogie
Nebraska Bird Review
The functions and methods of the NOU Records Committee are described in its bylaws (NOU Records Committee 1986). The committee's purpose is to provide a procedure for documenting unusual bird sightings and to establish a list of all documented birds for Nebraska. THE OFFICIAL LIST OF THE BIRDS OF NEBRASKA was first published in 1988 (NOU Records Committee 1988) and has been appended seven times (Mollhoff 1989, Grenon 1990, 1991, Gubanyi 1996a, 1996b, 1996c, Brogie 1997). An update of THE OFFICIAL LIST OF THE BIRDS OF NEBRASKA was last published in 1997 (NOU Records Committee 1997).

Populations And Habitat Requirements Of Breeding Henslow's Sparrows In Harris County, Texas, Keith A. Arnold, Nick C. Garza Jr.
Populations And Habitat Requirements Of Breeding Henslow's Sparrows In Harris County, Texas, Keith A. Arnold, Nick C. Garza Jr.
Bulletin of the Texas Ornithological Society
We studied the small breeding population of Henslow's Sparrow in Han·is County, Texas, in 1980 and 1981. Color-marked sparrows allowed us to determine territory sizes and early and late dates for the presence of this population. We also characterized the vegetation of the sparrow territories. Invasion of Chinese tallow (Sapiwn sebiferwn) and red imported fire ants likely played important roles in the extinction of this isolated population.

"Lest We Forget": The History Of Mercer Law Review, Charles R. Adams Iii
Mercer Law Review
It was one of those rare, perfect, early fall afternoons that occasionally favors middle Georgia. The stultifying heat of the 1948 summer had finally broken, and outside the open windows in the newly-cleared attic space on the third floor of the Ryals Law Building, the sky was the deepening color of blue that holds the promise of cooler weather and falling leaves. Inside, the air was still, but the atmosphere was electric with energy and a measure of tension. The group of students assembled there, led by Bill Tyson, were about to try something new and different in Mercer University …
