A Case For Compulsory Legal Ethics Education In Canadian Law Schools, Jocelyn Downie Apr 1997

A Case For Compulsory Legal Ethics Education In Canadian Law Schools, Jocelyn Downie

Dalhousie Law Journal

The author presents principled arguments, consequentialist arguments, arguments by analogy and arguments by authority in support of her conclusion that Canadian law schools should have compulsory legal ethics education. Among other things, she argues that legal ethics education is an imperfect but essential way to meet the obligations that arise from the public trust placed in the legal profession. She also explores a number of benefits that can accrue to students, law schools, the legal profession and society in general when ethics is a compulsory component of legal education.

Relationship Of Cognitive Style And Theoretical Orientation To Psychology Interns' Preferences For Supervision, Bruce T. Lochner, Timothy Melchert Apr 1997

Relationship Of Cognitive Style And Theoretical Orientation To Psychology Interns' Preferences For Supervision, Bruce T. Lochner, Timothy Melchert

College of Education Faculty Research and Publications

This study (N  = 106) investigated the effects of cognitive style and theoretical orientation on psychology interns' judgments about the type of supervision they find most beneficial. Preferences for task-oriented and relationship-oriented supervision have been hypothesized to indicate lower and higher levels of professional development, respectively. This study, however, found that trainees' cognitive styles and the behavioral emphasis of their theoretical orientations were also significantly related to their preferences for these two types of supervisory environments. Individual-difference variables in addition to developmental level may need to figure more prominently in future models of psychotherapist training and supervision.

Vcu Voice (1997-03-24)

VCU Voice, 1988-1998

VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.

Discovering The Dimensions Of Collaboration: An Investigation Of The Reliability And Validity Of The Modified Interagency Arrangement Model., Linda Mae Olson

Theses and Dissertations

The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of the Modified Interagency Arrangement Model and to add to the knowledge base about measurement of interagency collaboration. An instrument that would allow evaluation of the collaboration was developed. The characteristics of the instrument were investigated through a study of the North Dakota Early Childhood Tracking System (NDECTS) interagency arrangement structure. Validity of the instrument was examined by evaluating the modified IAM instrument's factor structure, content validity, and criterion-referenced validity. A measure of reliability was performed by examining the internal consistency of subscales and the entire scale. The sample studied were …
