Works on Radiation Effects: 1990-2020
Selected material about the healthcare system/status in Russia circa 1997. It looks like a series of pieces from a healthcare publication. Clearly this was a part of our trying to assess the opportunity to further our work with Dennis Sokol of the American Medical Centers that Ambassador Strauss connected us with as well as the post-Chernobyl opportunities for our colleagues in the Former USSR. Harold W. Manter Laboratory of Parasitology: Faculty Publications
A total of 153 elasmobranchs (46 species), either freshly collected from the Gulf of Mexico, USA, and Tasmania, Australia, or museum specimens collected from various localities worldwide, were examined for calicotyline (Monocotylidae) monogeneans. Thirty-five elasmobranchs, representing 17 species, were infected with Calicotyle spp. which we identified as the following previously described species: C. asterii (Szidat, 1970) Timofeeva, 1985; C. kroyeri Diesing, 1850; C. macrocotyle Cordero, 1944; C. similis (Szidat, 1972) Timofeeva, 1985; C. splendens (Szidat, 1970) Timofeeva, 1985; C. stossichi Braun, 1899; and C. urolophi Chisholm, Beverley-Burton & Last, 1991. The Calicotylinae, which comprises the genera Calicotyle and Dictyocotyle, …

Vcu Voice (1997-10-13)
VCU Voice, 1988-1998
VCU Today, the University’s first official administrative organ, began as a somewhat irregular monthly publication but moved to a bi-weekly newspaper format in the 1980s. The newspaper changed its name to VCU Voice in 1988 and ten years later it appeared under the title UniverCity News. As it neared the end of its run as a physical newspaper, the publication became simply VCU News. These four publications were essentially the same periodical published under different titles by the Office of University Relations. VCU News appeared online for the first time in 2002.

Global Responsibilities: Ethics, Public Health, And Global Environmental Change, Dale Jamieson
Global Responsibilities: Ethics, Public Health, And Global Environmental Change, Dale Jamieson
Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies
In this article, Professor Dale Jamieson examines the relationship between
climate change and public health from an ethical perspective. He begins by
exploring the link between global environmental change and public health and
concludes that global warming poses a serious potential threat to human
health. Professor Jamieson then questions why the potential health effects of
climate change have received so much attention when the other ramifications
of climate change have been left unaddressed He argues that the combination
of several factors has brought the issue of potential health effects to the
forefront of the climate change debate. One such factor …

The Globalization Of Public Health: Emerging Infectious Diseases And International Relations, David Fidler
The Globalization Of Public Health: Emerging Infectious Diseases And International Relations, David Fidler
Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies
In this article, Professor Fidler explains how the processes of
globalization have altered traditional distinctions between national and
international public health. Professor Fidler begins the article by
familiarizing the reader with globalization, reminding the reader that
globalization refers to the various factors that infringe upon a sovereign
state's ability to control what occurs in its territory. Next, the article defines
and discusses emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and examines the
contributions made by globalization to the emergence and reemergence of
EIDs. The article then develops a "pathology of the globalization of public
health ", which helps the reader to understand better …
