Federal Regulation Of Industry, Ethelbert W. Millard May 1936

Federal Regulation Of Industry, Ethelbert W. Millard

This discourse deals with the organization of business enterprises in the United states, their practices in respect to competition, and the Statutory regulations of trusts prior to 1920. It does not embrace government regulation of all industries as such, but is limited to federal regulation through statutory enactments as an outgrowth of the …

A Compilation Of A Bibliography Of Methods, Techniques, And Devices For The Teaching Of High School English, Madey Marie Shepard

All Theses

In this thesis I have attempted to compile some of the modern methods, techniques, and devices for teaching English in the high school.

I have noticed particularly here at Prairie View that in a majority of cases a higher standard of work might be perfected, if our students had a better background in the fundamentals of English. Those things upon which the success of our English courses and others, too, must be built.

The suggestions herein have been taken from copies of periodicals subscribed for by our library. Many of these techniques, methods, and devices are the results of experiments …

Plutarch's Philosophy Of Religion, Upton Heath Tarbert Iii May 1936

Plutarch's Philosophy Of Religion, Upton Heath Tarbert Iii

Bachelors’ Theses

The epoch just prior to the birth of Christ seems, in a sense, to be neglected In this age, which seems to be a turning point in history, we do not find a religious crisis, a philosophical drift or a moral demand so emphatic as to be capable of separate treatment. Thus far in history, historical issues seem to-have occupied the spotlight. However the old system was in a slow process of dissolution and a new one was receiving conception. In an age which demanded and received its sober defender of the old and its divine revealer of the new, …

The Soul In Modern Thought, Joseph Talsky May 1936

The Soul In Modern Thought, Joseph Talsky

Bachelors’ Theses

Many strange things happen in this world to add their particular bit to the general bafflement of man. Perhaps the strangest of all is the paradox of man's belief. He knows one thing in that heart of his and yet to all external appearances believes another. It is his prerogative to believe what he will but it is distressing that there is such great diversity of opinion concerning the very thing that is the ultimate principle and source of his ability to believe. Experience tells him that he has the enviable functions of thinking, feeling and willing but his experience …

The author wishes to acknowledge the kind cooperation of Dr. John R. Koch, Head of the Department of …

Bachelors’ Theses

While numerous editions of the poems of Lord. Spermatogenesis Of The Albino Rat (Nus Norvegicus Albus), Norman A. Frankenstein May 1936

Spermatogenesis Of The Albino Rat (Nus Norvegicus Albus), Norman A. Frankenstein

Bachelors’ Theses

This thesis deals with the inquiry opened by the fundamental discovery that the gamete nuclei, and hence, the two parents from which they are respectively derived, con tribute each a haploid or single group of chromosomes to the fertilized egg. Each act of fertilization doubles the gametic number of chromosomes; yet the number of characteristic of the species remains constant from generation to generation. Somewhere in the life cycle, accordingly, the diploid or somatic number must be reduced by one-half to the haploid or gametic number. The first explanation was that reduction took place by some process of degeneration or …
